The Departed - Have you seen this? ..

ok so it took me longer than most of you to see the movie LOL

but after seeing it there is a piece of the movie that is left unanswered.

Leonardo DiCaprio hands the shrink (Vera Farmiga) an envelope and tells her not to open it for 2weeks.

Then he mails an envelope to Matt Damon's house with the audio CD of him speaking to Jack Nicholson.

They end the movie without telling us what was in the envelope that the shrink was holding for Leonardo. Did i miss a part of the movie? What was in the envelope?

Martina Warren 04-14-2007 02:59 PM

After we spoke about it last night, i thought about it and I think it included instructions for her to contact Mark Wahlberg and i think that was why Mark Wahlberg ended up killing Matt Damon right at the end.

Luc 04-14-2007 03:00 PM

that's what sequels are for.

gornyhuy 04-14-2007 03:05 PM

Yeah, it was everything he knew and contact info for Marky Mark in case he got smoked... which he did.

Randyyy 04-14-2007 03:07 PM

The Truth Hurts 04-14-2007 04:08 PM

Aww PappaK! It was the files that Jack Nicholson sent Leo in the event of his death

Remember that whole thing in the elevator before Leo dies explaining how he was the only one JN trusted etc. he sent him phone recordings from all his conversations with Matt D

free4porn 04-14-2007 04:51 PM

I was confused by that bit too, still it's a great film

evildick 04-14-2007 11:16 PM

I don't know, but I just left the bar hammered, had a hot asian in tow, now I am sitting at home alone, fuck you all. No pussy tonight. Leonardo dies in the end BTW.

baddog 04-14-2007 11:30 PM

oh, I forgot to call you and tell you I was home. My dog wanted my undivided attention for a while.

AaronM 04-14-2007 11:57 PM

Kick ass movie...Loose end or not.

PersianKitty 04-15-2007 12:52 AM

I loved the movie.

I believe the envelope contained proof that Colin Sullivan (Matt Damon) was the rat and asked the shrink to pass the information to Dignam (Mark Walhberg).

Did you notice the rat on the bannister in the end shot?

PK

Thats your excuse for not getting an icq or phonecall from you? :disgust

Biggy 04-15-2007 01:17 AM

I thought the shrink was the same girl with Matt Damon. So when he gave her the envelope, that was the proof Matt Damon was the rat, hence how she got it.

I saw it late as well, saw it maybe a month ago on PPV.

Buddy missed me a lot. I think he thought I was never returning. Kourosh asked me to call as soon as I got home, Buddy had other ideas. :1orglaugh

I just watched the movie and was a great film but the rat at the end was kinda dumb IMO. I pay attention to detail and that kinda was too much IMO considering that a nice pad like that would never have a rat crawling across the balcony railing.

was a great movie but the rat thing kinda was a bit too much.
