I'll admit it -- wrote one a few years ago in java to spawn random http-request header threads from a pool of proxy IPs: Hit the site, perhaps follow the submit button for confirmation click and that was it. Link listings were on page one within a few hours.

Took a couple of days to realize it's a worthless pursuit, trying to game the system. One, it made me feel shitty doing it, but happy that I could. Two, it really was pointless, as I didn't try to target traffic or actually make money off the efforts.

Oh well... Guess I'm a bad person for seeing how easy it was to do. *shrug*
