After you eat, does this happen to you?

When I eat a big meal, afterwards my chin is forced down into my chest.

Ever see anyone trying to swallow air? I look like that. I feel like a dumbass. But I can't control it. It's like my throat is cramping and forcing my head down.

Does this happen to you?

Is this a 'legit' medical condition? What is it called?

riddler 04-15-2007 09:45 PM

yeah happens all the time to me, cant control it either.. not sure wtf causes it, i think its from eating to fast.

Big_Red 04-15-2007 09:46 PM

sounds pretty scary to me.

I didn't think I was a fast eater. I guess I could be. It's a fucking pain in the ass, but it's in my neck.

There has to be a way to avoid it.

Spunky 04-15-2007 09:50 PM

Explain a big meal..2 triple bacon cheeseburgers with super sized fries and a strawberry shake could be considered big

GrouchyAdmin 04-15-2007 09:50 PM

I've never seen, or heard of anything like that - except with those 5 year old kids who are 500lbs.

However, they always look that way. :error

SomeCreep 04-15-2007 09:52 PM

I have no idea what you're talking about. After I eat a big meal, the only effect I feel is that the next day I need to go poop. That's it.

Yeah, I havent really researched it because i have no fucking clue how to even research for it lol, its hard to even explain unless you a person does the same thing.

RedShoe 04-15-2007 10:01 PM

yeah.. it's REAL hard to explain. It's better to see it, but I'm not going to film myself for GFY.

A big meal like a very healthy serving of beef stew over rice. 2 of those and there I am, chin down to my chest.

It's not like it lasts very long. It's like 3 maybe 4 seconds long. But it happens maybe 10-15 times after a big meal. It feel like you have to burp, but you don't burp. It's like a very unsatisfying burp. It also kinda forces you to sit upright. So if you sit with a slight slouch, when this thing happens it forces you upright and chin down. Again... it's kinda hard to explain.

BoyAlley 04-15-2007 10:09 PM

Don't blink. Me eating less is as easy as you never blinking again.

This is close, but it's not painful. It just seems uncontrollable. Maybe slightly discomforting, but not painful.

LiveDose 04-15-2007 10:53 PM

I'm picturing Jay Leno. Is that the basic look?

D 04-15-2007 11:00 PM

Probably just a weird semi-regular muscle spasm.

Different people get them in different regions.

Ask your doc about it next check-up.

Sounds pretty bad. The only thing I can say is that you should order one meal instead of ... (how many U usually have?) :)

galleriesx 04-16-2007 01:14 AM

It happens to me when I eat too fast and that is, most of the time :upsidedow

Try eating slower and cut your meat in smaller portions

SexualDragon 04-16-2007 02:07 AM

After a heavy meal I usually have to take a dump to make room...

Ssv 04-16-2007 02:43 AM

Stop eating BIg meals, try eating few times, smaller portions.Maybe your stomach finds it hard to digest big portions of food

RedShoe 04-16-2007 09:20 AM

Ok... I'm going to eat the same meal tonight but much slower and see if that's it.

tony286 04-16-2007 09:20 AM

have you gone to a doctor about it ?

Phoenix 04-16-2007 09:22 AM

narrowthroat maybe?

does it happena lot with starch items?

they might be sticking to your throat.

try chewing more..and a bit of water to wash down your food maybe every 3-4 mouthful

Pumba 04-16-2007 09:38 AM

Try to burp and you will feel better. It helps when I eat to much. You can also drink some soda juice.

HomerSimpson 04-16-2007 10:19 AM

better consult your doctor than GFY...
he'll probably have more reasonable explanation for that...

It's not Dr. worthy just yet, and it doesn't happen WHILE I'm eating it happens AFTER. SO I don't think it's food getting stuck. It's like a long hiccup, or mild non-burp. I dunno.. hard to describe.
