Is eBay the best place to sell domain names?

I have a few domain names that I have been sitting on for a while, and I know that I'm not going to do anything with them, otherwise I probably already would have by now. Maybe my heart's just not in this whole adult online thing. They are VERY brandable and niche-suited.

Also, if someone has some business ideas and would like to partner up, I would be open to it, but I don't have any start up cash. Just a lot of time on my hands.

Is eBay the best place to sell them, or do the people with real money even go there anymore? How do I know what they're worth? How do I know I'm not getting hosed by someone?

nobody?:Oh crap

JimiJimi 04-17-2007 06:25 AM

check out moniker com.

domain auction sites charge 10%+/-.

ebay costs less but you have to create your own targeted interest=traffic.

I'm listing HockeyStore com on ebay very soon.

Hazlewood 04-17-2007 11:19 AM

hockeystore is a great domain

Domains_Broker 04-17-2007 11:39 AM

What are the domains? I can help you.

Ebay is one option but as previously posted, you'll still have to plug the auction on the forums:

sedo.com
sitepoint.com
namepros.com
Dnforum.com
digitalpoint.com
GFY.com

If it's a good domain and priced right, it should sell if you post it on the above forums... no need to waste your time on ebay.

These are what I would consider my bread and butter, I feel like I should be able to get a lot for them. Not 6 figures, but they are Highly brandable, memorable, and could go a lot of different ways. Adult, dating, clothing, social networking, etc....

hotsoccermom . com
hotsoccermom . net

These two I wouldn't expect a ton from, but I think they have potential if marketed correctly.

burlesquegirl . com
burlesquegirl . net

I am talking to a broker at Sedo right now, but any recommendations would be appreicated. :thumbsup

allteengalleries 04-17-2007 08:42 PM

Since this is being discussed how much do you think allteengalleries.net would fetch?

If you would having on this domain one page with any content since date of creation (year 2002) - he was cost something.
Otherwise he costs a nominal = $10.

Probably he means that your domains are not brandable.

Webthread, You CAN sell your domain names on Ebay... meaning that it is a possibility, but not one that I would actively recommend. Ebay is built to sell ANYTHING, but that makes it a bit less "domain buyer targeted".
We at Moniker are going to be having another adult domain name auction at Internext in August down here in Florida. The first adult domain name auction in Las Vegas was a pretty big success... you may have heard about it... Shemales.com went for 500,000 dollars (awesome name for a terrific price!), and a total of roughly 4 million dollars worth of domain names were sold.
If you need to sell them quickly and cannot wait until the August auction, then let the community here know about the names... There are tremendous people in this community, and they are always keeping their eyes open for good names (which is the way it should be!!) If you need to determine pricing for the names, you can get them appraised, and we (Moniker) do offer that service. If you need any help, just give me a yell via email or ICQ! Cheers!

ModelPerfect 04-24-2007 07:23 AM

That sounds good, Chris. I'll keep you in mind for some of my domains...

MacDevilish 04-24-2007 08:38 AM

Anytime! I'll help in any way I can!:thumbsup

ebay is worthless for selling domains. The names you mentioned are fairly low value and I would not put a lot of effort into them.

Also, save yourself the money and don't bother with an appraisal. It's all crap.

I'm looking to get into the adult online business also but i'm not so sure how to go about the whole thing. Maybe we can help each other?

yup sedo is good. eBay is a flea market with cheap ass people but good amount of traffic if advertised correctly.
