Holy fuck.. Flooded!

I live at a coastal resort.. fucking flooded in & water coming in from the sea on front side of house & water coming in from the marsh from backside of house & pretty much whole area is flooded... now the tide's finally down & national guard is all over the place evacuating people & fire dept everywhere pumping out homes.. the roads are finally cleared up.. for now.. tide is gonna come back though... I hope it's not downpouring again.. The national guard looks like they're building a big sand mountain along the beach...

I want to go out & take pics... will rain ruin my digital camera.

Will insurance even cover something like that? Would be horrible to see everything you have worked for destroyed. Kinda glad I live here where the worst thing that happens seems to be the occassional thunder or snow storm.

and make sure you carry something large and metal far above your head in case of lightning, I hear that scares it right away.

Cover your camera with a hat or a bag. A bit of surface water is probably nothing to worry about, but make sure it doesn't end up inside. If it's a point & shoot with a zoom lens that moves in and out of the body then it's probably not such a good idea.

My home is fine.. some of my neighbors though got fucked..

I'm on an upper level too.. but I'm worried about my vehicles because new moon is tonight, which means extra high tide..

spacedog 04-16-2007 05:33 PM

:( Damn,,., I should've went out earlier.. All the water went down..

Oh well.. tide's coming back at 11pm.. but it's not raining anymore.. just windy as shit.. & full moon coming.. wonder if it'll flood again.

Not too spectacular since the water went down...

No, I live in a house.

It's a vacation resort.. there's at least 1000 hotels in the area.

It's a mix of hotels, condominiums & houses & gazillions of cottages.
