War against Terrorism.
Most of these attacks are indiscriminate not caring who they kill. |

I got some fake news story that said Clinton dropped bombs in Afghanistan and not Iraq. There were some strikes in the "no-fly zone" in Iraq but those didn't require presidential approval. :helpme |

BTW, Clinton aslso dropped nukes on Japan ... You should know that....:1orglaugh |

Yes , but imagine how bad it would be without the great surge ....
:winkwink: |
I had no intention of this turning into a Splum vs directfiesta political thread.
It's pretty simple - this was not happening before the US got there, now it is. It's a Civil war. |
I don't know really about the first comment, civil war is a war between tow different typs of people who belong to the same nation or geographic area. This is mostly Iraqi 'insurgents' trying cause unrest and remove an occupying force. Sounds more like an occupation to me.
|
During the french resistance of occupation ( WW2 ), the resistance was attacking the germans and their collaborators, not the civil population.
This is not anymore a resistance of occupation. This is a civil war between the Shiites and the Sunnis, and the Kurds could eventually join in.... You would remove the occupation forces of Iraq, and this violence would still go on, till they do resolve their differences, if that is possible. IT IS A CIVIL WAR! |

What we have here is a failure to communicate.

So if this is a civil war? What are the American soldiers? Collateral damage?

There are now many groups, - including the current Iraq govt and US "residency". They all play a role in conflict - and the govt are crooked as hell and involved in killings on a scale. There was probably a reasonable chance at avoiding this level of conflict some years back - but the plans to "rebuild Iraq" where another myth - and still few basic utilities/services etc and no law enforcement worth mentioning. |
Of course it's a civil war lol... the only person that kept stability there was that insane mofo. Without him to curb terrorism they all came out of the woodwork and fucked up a relatively stable country. We're there with a bottle of glue trying to keep it together but that glue supply can't last forever.
