Are shows really beneficial? or a waste of major $$$$$$$
flight $1000
taxis $150 rooms $900 food and booze $700 pass to the floor $200 getting no biz done and leaving with a hangover......worthless. Have these shows out lived/priced their usefulness? Discuss. |
Networking is the best. I look forward to attending my first show. I've been in the biz for 7 years but have taken the backseat route. I look forward to meeting the drivers of the industry.

how many people you taking for those prices?
I got about 15k worth of new biz that came thru from the vegas show in jan So the 1500.00 i spent was well worth it plus it was all tax deductible :thumbsup |
tax deduction yes...but also netowrorking is key.
even if i dont get a deal i want...sometimes someone you hang out with knows the person you need to know....and you meet them that way....this is a relationship business. you need to go create relationships |
If it wasn't beneficial, people wouldn't be going.

Shows are really beneficial for some. A waste of major $$$$$$$ for others.

Totally depends on what you do there.
There is a large group that simply goes to have a good time / party There are those that like to hammer away at making deals There are those that network like crazy There are those that are just looking to get together with old friends There are those looking to do face to face business I do not think any of these reasons is a waste. |
depends what you do with your time
if you walk around like a total goober and not talk to anyone yes you will waste money but if you meet new people talk biz get shit done you will make money |

I can't tell you how important and beneficial the Phoenix Forum was for me. It helped me in so many different areas that well it ended up being priceless. Just to talk to you and learn from you and the best thing I learned out of all of it was that we are a rare group of people that actually go to work everyday and like what we do. We are lucky indeed ... lets not forget that. Ever!1 So my vote is YES!!

It really depends on how you do the show.
if you get drunk and ignore everyone, don't bother. if you go with a plan, you will be successful. I haven't been doing the smaller shows recently, but I've been sending teams. Used to be just me. And it put me on the map. |
all the money i have blown on shows has made me X amount of Money over and such...
So it is what u make of em , and you network and such..... |
I never leave a trade show without new business.
|
what JFK said. it is up to you, not the show. Just like everything else in life, its what you make of it
