What makes a sponsor better than others?

What tools are most important for affiliates when looking over a potential new sponsor? I'm making a rather long and detailed list.

728x90 banners, lots of trailers, a lot of tours only have 1 big trailer, which really sucks.

good thumbs on movie galleries, not blurry shit.

movie of the day.

What a hot topic RocHard as we all strive to provide the best support to affiliates... :thumbsup

In the May issue of Klixxx there are Ten Ways to Improve Your Affiliate Program based on recent research conducted to see just what is available - based on their research this should be a great thread :winkwink:

creative promotools, paying on time, memberarea access (for free porn, because affiliates like to wank too), program must be easy to navigate (i like nats) and their sites must be quality ofcourse and convertiiiiing like crazy :)

I think the thing that most programs tend to miss is the releasing a new site (or program) is an integral thing: You need to come to the table with the site, the promo tools, the galleries, the RSS feeds, whatever it is... all on launch day.

For me, there is nothing more frustrating that a hot new site with nothing to promote it with. Get some sample content out there, get some galleries ready, get at least a few banners done (they are cheap to make, come on, splurge for the last $200), and have other promotional tools at the ready.

A sponsor that has sites that are 6 months old and still doesn't have more than a single banner or 3 free hosted galleries is probably not working it very hard.

When I see a program that has an ongoing committment to fresh galleries, promo tools, banners, content, etc, then I know that is a program that is going to move forward.

For me it is not about the tools : the site must be simply good. Tours that follow the trend, exclusive content, a large members area ==> The product must be good.

Then support is importanr and lots of content for promotion. Best if members area access comes along with the sign up process. ( like at hundies or perfectgonzo) .. When I sign up at a spomsor I want to start right away, I hate it to wait several days until I finally get the members area access to grab content.

Many sponsors offer pic sets with even less than 12 pics per set , or 15 pics looking all similar. I mean whats that all about ? Totally useless.

Also I hate when sponsors need to approve your account first. Again , when I sign up I want to start right away. All actions that cause delay piss me off.

To sum up : A great product is essential, great tour , great members area, something that give the surfer conten in abundance.

2nd: Fast support, or ways to make the communication process more efficient. Giving the essential stuff right away ( members area access / or sufficient content to start ) and no pending approval.

I am gallery submitter so I can only give you my POV.
Others might see it slightly different ...

Give me top end paysites with good content and I'll make my own tools. All I require is access to good content. Sales is what makes one sponsor better than another in my opinion.

Big_D 04-23-2007 08:02 AM

support, ad tools, and quallity

TheLegacy 04-23-2007 08:24 AM

client service - new quality content - fresh faces in sites that convert

what always made you great rochard is that you have aligned yourself with some good companies as you are now. take a solo girl that has star potential and start slamming her on the msg boards etc. (you know what I mean) and start building a following.

Anyone can have a hot girl, but few have so-so girls that are in hot surfer demand.

Cyber Fucker 04-23-2007 08:45 AM

quality free content, fhgs and detailed accurate stats

Sosa 04-23-2007 09:33 AM

Nice clean content and movies. Nothing grainy looking and blurry etc. Top notch content is what brings in the sales :) Tours with more then 1 movie trailer etc also like Fris pointed out.

LiveDose 04-23-2007 09:38 AM

Customer support, good exclusive content & regular updates.

Sales is all that matters in the end to me. Honestly, there are so many programs that are just fucking clueless at converting traffic. They brag about some promo tools, some hot new promo, or whatever else gets people off on these boards. But they fuck up the simplest stuff and throw away traffic. I'm talking about not having options for some foreign traffic to purchase access, not utilizing cascading billing, crappy hosting that makes the sites slow, pages too heavy with code and images to load fast, and on and on. I can name hundreds of things that affiliate programs do to fuck up.

So what makes a sponsor better for me is maximizing the potential of every click that is sent to them. Increasing your conversions just a half a percent can mean big bucks to affiliates and yourself.
