I really really wanna get into webcams and dating, but have no idea what to do!
Hey, bit of a noob post this, but for a long while now I have been wanting to explore new methods of getting in revenue and I love the look and idea of dating and especially webcams. but for the life of me , i just cant make webcam or dating sales! I get the uniques, i get the free members, i just dont get the cash!
But I am totally clueless at how I can make a network out of the two, by producing good content on the pages and getting surfer activity up. I know you wont be telling me your secrets in how you do it. But if you help me out, give me a quick chat on icq, give me some ideas, I shall more than happily use your refcode for the program that you suggest I use. I am willing to put a lot of work in, as I want to be involved in dating and webcams long term, rather than the paysite market. so hopefully your advice will pay off in the long run. I mainly get my traffic from the search eginnes. Yet I cant make webcam sales to save my life. I have made so so few. I own babesonwebcam.com and couplesonwebcam.com. thanks |
good luck man, you gotta think outside of the box with webcams... you're selling a 1 on 1 connection and not a site w/ wank material
personalize some of your ads & pages a bit more, entice the surfer to want to chat with THAT particular "model" its a small transition from paysites to webcams or dating, but once it clicks (in your head) it's cake :) |
Geo-IP banners are very cool for this.

you also have to know what you're promoting. sales dont come fast if youre promoting free joins and waiting for the guys to convert to paying customers. these guys may just look around and jerk off until one day they have some extra money or find a girl they cant resist and then you get paid.
or you can promote sites that pay you per join and charge and verify the customers credit card ahead of time with $1 joins and what not. then you can get paid faster and upfront. mix in some of both and find out what works for you really. |
embed live cam girls onto the page itself, dont worry about banners, link any images directly to the cam girl or join page.

Thanks guys these are all great detailed answers, keep them coming! Im going to read them all clearer after a nights sleep, but tomorrow it begins, I will start my campaign into webcams and dating.
What im really after is instead of the advertsiing aspect, is to get the cam and dating traffic to start off with. I need a network that I will work day and night at to build up traffic and have no idea what to do. Im still up for one on one guidance chat on icq if anyone has time to spare, remembering my offer aswell 194484460 |

Put content (photo/video) from real camgirls on your pages. Also a mini flash chat component can help.

buy the live webcam feeds from us and make your site a paid-membership site... this might be good for you if you have good traffic...

Look for a unique unsaturated webcam site.. No point going with the big names coz everyones selling them.. Has to be different.
|
Join a camsite yourself to see what the big deal is. Then sell that big deal to your surfers.
When I promote paysites I always check out the members areas, then I know if my surfers will like it. |
got some friends spamming yahoo and msn for the girls....they do well

I'll disclose that I push about 600 cam sales a month give or take. Take this advice for whatever you feel it's worth.
First off, I'll say that you should never choose a sponsor and stick with them. Each cam site is a little different and behaves differently to different types of traffic. For instance, more sophisticated cam surfers are looking for less hype, more hot girls, and good prices. Newbie traffic will eat up sales pitches on sites and tend to overlook the prices of the girls. So you'll want to test out different sponsors, different pages, and all sorts of stuff till you find the best combination. If you have a site that gets a lot of repeat traffic, you'll want to mix up the sponsors as well. As for the kind of traffic that converts well with cams, it's tough to say. It tends to do well with more experienced surfers who have been looking at porn online for years. They've gotten sick of the paysites and need interaction. With that said, you'll need a unique way of getting people to the site. Maybe an interactive type site, something that provides unique entertainment, and something no one else is doing well. Dive into the web for an afternoon and see how others are getting traffic and think of ways that you can do it better or differently. Some of the best ideas I've come up with was when I just took a day to see what others were doing. I'll also add that targeting a niche audience and dominating it is the best way to get started. Everyone looks at dating and cams and thinks they need to have the generic traffic. Dominate an area like pregnant cams, guys who want to date transexuals, or something like that. It might not have huge volumes, but if you can dominate that market, you'll have consistent long term sales. I'd rather dominate the tranny cam market than be another average webmaster sending to a cam company. Lastly, I know people will bash me for this, but I think it's time to pull away from dating. It's so oversaturated right now, and I don't think it's an industry that will continue to grow. Sites like Myspace and Facebook are taking a lot of their customers who realize they can meet others for free. I think cams will get bigger as paysites shrivel away and users demand more interactiveness. ICQ me if you need some advice or help. My ICQ always has me invisible for some reason, but I'll help you with the pros/cons of each cam site. |
I just came up with something that im gonna do for my self while replying to this thread, sorry man I am not gonna tell it, but thanks for making me think how to tap into some webcam money :D

Feel free to hit me up on ICQ, when you have a chance. :thumbsup
