i think is where their downfall will be:

"It keeps costs down by only taking reservations over the Internet and not staffing a call center."

Basing things solely on the internet with zero customer service will be a problem. And anyone who does business with a company will demand a contact number just in case of mix ups.

Forest 04-25-2007 07:37 AM

did u read the article?

only 10 seats per flight at 10.00

g$$$ 04-25-2007 07:38 AM

same way other carriers sell different fare classes on their plane

first come, dates travel, overnight stays ect ect

Chris 04-25-2007 07:52 AM

hrmm looks pretty interesting
lets see how this plays out

cherrylula 04-25-2007 07:54 AM

Amazing, and airlines are always crying about money.

ADL Josh 04-25-2007 07:55 AM

very interesting.

uno 04-25-2007 08:03 AM

I hope this works out and they expand it further.

Forest 04-25-2007 08:07 AM

the one thing u guys are missing is the fact that it will be almost impossible to get a ticket at the 10.00 fare. Tghe avg plane on those routs has 150+ seats.

this is nothing different used car dealers advertising the 199.00 specials they have on the lot only to get there and find out the lowest price car on the lot is 5k

or Kmart or walmart advertising xmas specials for some thing at like 5.00 but in the fine print it says (one 1 avail at this price)

i agree with that. it clearly states that the fare is 10.00 but when you factor in bag checking and "upgraded" seating (which i guess is done at the terminal - not a good idea), a person will end up spending close to 200-300 after all is said and done.

in an alternate universe this is a great idea. in the reality of this world it will be a travel nightmare which they will have to address immediately after someone logs a complaint because there WILL be far more than one.

g$$$ 04-25-2007 08:46 AM

www.skybus.com is the link to their site

sortie 04-25-2007 08:49 AM

Only hackers and terrorist will be able to get the seats.

g$$$ 04-25-2007 10:08 AM

shoeaholicanon 04-25-2007 10:10 AM

wow that's nice!
not convenient for me, but none the less, that's cool.

LiveDose 04-25-2007 10:12 AM

How about $10 salaries for the loser ceo's that can't flip the industry out of the red.

g$$$ 04-25-2007 10:32 AM

what would be funny is if they charge $10 one way...full price plus more going back.. lol

SykkBoy 04-25-2007 10:34 AM

I wonder if there are a couple cross sales included in that price ;-)

NinjaSteve 04-25-2007 10:46 AM

IllTestYourGirls 04-25-2007 01:35 PM

marcjacob 04-25-2007 03:50 PM

Well we have these sort of deals in the UK but then they add on tax and a "fuel charge" lol. That said if you know your going to travel a few months in advance you can save alot even with the hidden charges.

madawgz 04-25-2007 04:38 PM

g$$$ 04-26-2007 12:15 AM

Who cares, it was only $10. Just buy a new ticket?

Big_D 04-26-2007 12:18 AM

well, it may be only ten, but if you book online early enough your guaranteed that 10 dollar ticket

Webby 04-26-2007 12:30 AM

Another budget carrier about to launch and trying to find an angle for PR attention?? :pimp

One plane will bear Nationwide's logo and slogan on its fuselage, and ads will also be featured on the plane's tray tables, overhead bins, restroom doors and refreshment cart, the companies said.
surprised more airlines haven't picked up on the advertising option before this

airplanes are FULL of prime advertising space, I would imagine it could make up for a lot of debt if they sold ads on the backs of seats

g$$$ 04-26-2007 12:56 AM

jace...always thinking like an adult webmaster...hehe

Then require customers to give their credit card number before talking to customer service. Charge them for it.

People like me who NEVER call customer service shouldn't have to pay for it in the cost of the product or services.
