This truly is a lose/lose situation for our industry and win/win for Zango and the companies who do business with them. Not to mention the torrent/warez sites and the people who do business with them as well.

I don't have anything against anyone, and at one point thought what will was doing was right - but WG has put to words the conclusion I came to as well.

I'm not attacking will, aff, zango even. My point is that this hurts us ALL. Sure these companies who do business with sites who steal our ONLY COMMODITY are typically big enough that they can just throw money and hope it goes away. Example:

But there HAS to be a point where you take an ethical stance against something. If you're in a position where that is required of you, and you fail to do so - no matter what you say or do from this point on people will remember. Regardless of who you are or what you do or how good life is right now - you are the one who has to live with yourself and no amount of GFY attacks will change that.

I don't care WHO you are, rich or poor, old hat or just starting out - EVERYONE has a responsibility to this industry. Just because your shit might do well in mainstream doesn't mean fucking the adult industry is the least bit acceptable.

So who knows? Should people continue to crusade against this? I don't know - part of me thinks so. The other part of me wishes it wasn't so widespread (i.e.: GUBA picking up a ton of affiliates).

Who can say?

Nothing will happen, Zango won't be touched & asking for people to act responsibly is just a bunch of wasted effort because no is going to leave money on the table "for a good cause".

The only real way to solve this problem is to figure out how to stop zango from popping on your own sites & make that solution/software that publicly available... then spend the same amount of effort pushing that product instead.

Yeah, that is one solution but then what about torrent and warez sites?

Like i said in another thread, keeping zango a "secret" isn't going to make them go away any faster either. Sure, more people are using them now, hopefully losing money and over paying on clicks but the more attention the more scrutiny it gets and the more shady people start promoting them and causing problems for with the ftc for them again.

They're just a fact of life for the time being... they're already pushing warez & illegal material.

If a US company like AFF can's them it's because of the potential legal issues related to the material, not because they're anti-warez. Money is money.

And if this happens, all the affiliate needs to do is switch to an offshore solution that will gladly pick up the slack. There are a few out there.
