Living in LA looks expensive

I'm looking at the cost of houses and a $40,000 house in Indianapolis goes for $310,000 in LA. Why. Whats so fun about LA? And how could you have any money to go out with that kind of cost of living lol

Pornwolf 04-29-2007 04:15 PM

Don't complain about LA prices... just make more money and you won't notice.

L.A. is heaven if you have enough cash to enjoy it. I guarantee where you live does not compare. Find a few friends out there and then rent a house for a month then report back. I bet you will understand the appeal after that month! :winkwink:

maybe LA is more popular that other states , maybe if you have a chance try to look on some places that your budget can

Show me a nice $310,000 home in LA.
I'm thinking anything nice is over $500,000.

It is expensive to live here - plus the traffic is a bitch. Stay away...there's too many people here as it is :thumbsup

I don't know much else about LA but seems people from there can't read worth a fuck and they are overly confident. Anyway, I didn't say I could buy a place I would be willing to live in for $300k in LA. Quite the opposite.

baddog 04-29-2007 04:52 PM

Believe it or not, we still have the most efficient freeway system than anywhere else on the planet. It's fucking slow (at times), but it works. In the middle of the day you can get from North Hollywood to downtown in less than 15 minutes, and then out to the coast in just 15-20 minutes and back to NoHo from the coast in about 30 minutes.

The freeways are only stopped from 7-10 am and from 4-7pm. And sometimes every hour in between.

Knock it off. Don't forget to mention the random freeway shootings, air you can't breathe, mudslides, fires, earthquakes, carjackings and all the Mexicans.

Simple solution...Move to Las Vegas... Short commute to LA, homes are still about half the price, and the traffic isn't nearly as bad!

I'm looking through listings now. About half the price of San Diego. Not bad, I thought the market was a little higher than that at this point.

LA is super expensive, but most major cities are. A lot of people want to live here, hence the cost of living. Most places that are anywhere decent around here start around 500,000, and thats like a 2 bedroom 1 bath type place lol

Yeah. $330k gets you 4,000 to 5,000sq ft here. I'll stay put.
