DH, Wizzo, WiredGuy, Lars, Juicy, etc..
No drama. Just a thread to understand the reasoning behind it.
Why do they post at all to defend the spyware/adware, torrent sites, etc..? Do any of them own spyware or torrent sites? What motivation is there to encourage more people to use these methods for promotion? Wouldn't it just dilute their own campaigns? Why bother? The aggressive defense of these practices is what keeps people replying and flooding the forum with so many threads about it. |
I haven't defended bit torrents or spyware. Adware, yes, because its legal and has a lot of misconception about it. I don't see anything wrong with software being distributed freely which is supported by advertising. Lots of people put adware and spyware in the same category and it simply isn't true.

both are adware, but one is perfectly fine, while the other is malicious |

so where does it begin and end. arent torrents practically an extension of tgp. i mean a tgp site has thousands of pics and videos for free, its just sponsor approved. i remember back when programs were picky about tgp and now 9 out of 10 will give you every bit of content they have to use for it.

i want job tooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
i will get the bitches for everyone |

Regardless, the main difference here is the stamp of approval given to TGP's, to which sponsor cater by offering free content in various forms, while torrent sites blatantly rip entire sites without anyone's approval. |

I have never seen Juicy defend any of this, he jokes not in the happiest of threads but no support.

Maybe you weren't around, or didn't make avs sites... I lost over $4000 due to Thehun and Al4a. |

How do you stop a bunch of surfers from sharing complete site rips? |
Quote:
Sponsors can find a way to work with Torrent Sites too. Shouldn't you expect them to do the same? You are telling me I was supposed to be able to stop them from fucking me. It wasn't like Thehun emailed you and said, hey I wanted to link your shit, but if you want to stop it, add a htaccess. |

Sure maybe you can flood the P2P networks with teaser videos and stuff. But then the surfer just does a search, orders the results by size and boom...you´ve got a 1.2GB site rip ready to download. I highly doubt he´s gonna pull out his credit card... |

We all know you are great looking, but you don't need to be so modest about your other talents. :winkwink: |

tgp wasnt always looked in such a friendly way as i said and now a sponsor will practically give you all of the content they have, full videos, entire photo sets and let you tgp the shit out of it. but they're crying about this, its the same thing over again. they only bitch when they're not in it and making money from it, but they'll exploit this and a few years from now it will be accepted and all these cry babies will be bitching about something else. youre all greedy and dirty whether you like it or not on some level |

People need to either join with the torrent sites in some way or come up with a product worth purchasing.

Their is a big difference |
Which TGP or MGP will be the first to offer complete site rips and full length dvd quality movies?

Also, I do understand most of you are in the states. But deeplinking to a non-protected directory is not illegal. But it IS illegal to download or seed torrents with unlicensed material in finland, and finnish trackers have been raided and shut down. Sweden apparently has different laws, and so do the states (I assume?) |
Also, TGP's are a business. TGP owners share 'enough' content to keep visitors happy but still make money. Torrent USERS are people who just want to share content, for free, without any financial gain. They just want as much for 100% free as they can...that is if we take piratebay etc trackers and rapidshare and the like out of the equation who are making a buck out of it. The USERS of these services, the 'surfers' who do the actual surfing aren't intrested whether anyone makes money or not.
TGP owners do care. (or atleast should care) |
