Question for the moms of GFY
 

I usually send my mom a plant for Mothers Day. I figure flowers are dead in a week, a plant she can put in her garden and have fun with.

Now what's a good plant to get? The climate is seasonal, hot and humid in the summer, good amount of sunlight and rain.

i have an african violet that my daughter gave me years ago and i have a black thumb. it can stay in it's pot in or outdoors.

A plant may last longer, but the flowers will be remembered as more impressive. Screw the plant... get her flowers.

Uh, no. My mom likes the plants much more.

I don't need to impress my mom.

If she has a place to hang it, a big ass Boston fern rocks. I always let mine die at the end of the season, because ferns in the house = pain in the ass.

But they are beautiful while they last.

I am getting the woman in my life a herb garden. Fun to grow and then you can eat them :)
