Anyone use Exmasters as there host?

Hey,

I am having some issues with my members page. I am trying to upload my movies to my members area using their ftp program and I am being told that the files are too large. All of my movies are under five minutes because they are in clips. I also have another movie that uploaded and was 6 mintues with no problem. I have gone mad trying to figure out what is going on and I think that the support over their may not have a clue. I will be desperately awaiting a response.

Thanks
E

You may need to use an external FTP program. Have you tried any? I use FTP explorer and FTP commando.

Get AceFTP freeware ...
http://software.visicommedia.com/en/...ceftpfreeware/
Also, they have a tech person, ask Milo about it ... I'm too lazy now to look for that icq number ....

Under "Admin Level" go to "Administrator Settings". Find "Max File Upload Size (bytes)" and change the limit to what you need.

Best Regards,

Technical explanation:

Just to explain a bit as to why you are having problems and that an external FTP program may solve your problems.

"Built-in" FTP programs offered by hosts are usually just an uploading script that uses the HTTP protocol. HTTP often has size limitations and is not resumable, meaning that if the upload is interrupted it has to start all over again. (this sucks with large files or shaky internet connections). True FTP applications use the FTP protocol, FTP is resumable, and can handle any size file(s). Most FTP programs automatically resume the upload from where it left off if, even if the internet connection drops for a moment.

If you still have problems after making the suggested change that Fenris Wolf stated, try an FTP application. Others include WS-FTP, CuteFTP.

Good luck

Thanks I figured it out. I am using an outer FTP and everything is working fine. I was using CuteFtp and purcahsed the home edition but for some reason it didn't allow me to connect to exmasters server. It would disconnect me everytime. I think that I will just stick with FTP explorer for right now. I love it.
