Pussy ass question about male adult acne.
Everyone tells me to purchase the "Proactive system", but if it is so good why not sell it over the counter? Think I know the answer, credit card rebill.
My major problem has always been around the lips and chin. I've tried mostly all product. Never have been to a dermatologist. (that would be too gay) |
They sell it at keosk places in the malls here. I dont see how thats not over the counter, as over the counter generally means no prescription.
They dont put it in drug stores and such for one simple reason, they dont need to. Their system is as close to a credit card rebill as dove is for a bar of soap. I've never used proactive, but a couple friends have and its worked good for them, seems to work better for women then men though, also getting outside and a bit of a tan will help too. |
If it's bad try the accutane stuff (think that is how you spell it). It can only be provided by a doctor, and you have to get regular health tests, etc while on it but apparently it basically is the only sure fire way to beat acne for good. From what I saw about it for it basically prevents your body from producing anywhere near the amount of oil, etc it is currently producing (thus side effects include things like very dry lips, etc) while you are on it, and courses generally go for around 6 months or so if I remember correctly. But when you come off it everyone claims that their acne is essentially gone for good.
Try acne.org I think that's what I saw before. And no, I don't have a major problem with it myself, just a pimple or two that might pop up every now and than. |

accutane definitely works
and you can get it online (do a search for isotrentinoin) |

Be sure to use a different wash cloth or sponge on your face then you do the rest of your body, and scrub your face for a good minute two to three times a day... Don't use anything else either.. Good luck mang :thumbsup |
I had a bout with acne a couple years ago that I think came from wearing a hockey helmet and excessive sweat on the face. I went to a dermatologist, he put me on some antibiotics, and it cleared up in a week completely.
Honestly, if you want the shit gone, go to a dermatologist. If it's real bad, they'll even throw you on a mild steriod that will eliminate it in a day. Plus, it's usually covered on insurance. |
really, if you're serious about making it STOP dont bother w/ different soaps, face scrubs, detergents, astringents, etc
those things barely work... acne starts from inside accutane will permanently shrink your sebaceous glands i've done it, it works... to this day i might get 1 or 2 pimples every few weeks... but they go away before they ever come to heads do a search on accutane before & after pics best part is, its a pill you take once a day for about 5-6 months... dry skin & very chapped lips are about the extent of side effects while on it |

Also, you can't drink alchohol while you're taking it. |
i just noticed how bored i am by reading this thread
|
Isn't Accutane primarily a vitamin-C derivative?
From several people I've talked to over the years, being outdoors in the sun for extended periods of time seems to help clear up acne (for some people). |

i drank a few here n there while on accutane, binged once in a while but i dont really drink during the week so it wasn't a huge issue for me accutane is liver toxic but that is why you get all of the bloodwork done every month, just to make sure your liver values are in check.. if you're values skyrocketed because your genetics gave you a liver like a tin can, then they'd just pull you off of it it really is a miracle drug when it comes to acne, but the side effects can be harsh which is why most docs only recommend the topical garbage |
