Using Adbrite? !!!WARNING!!!
Seems some of the Antispyware groups are blocking anything and everything adbrite. Looks like they need to clean up their advertisers like Drivecleaner, systemdoctor, among many.
It is not just because they are an adserver. It is because they let every scumbag with cash advertise on your sites. See their 'statement' on the following page. http://www.websitepublisher.net/blog...ving-problems/ Of course their efforts are too little, too late as they are being blocked by many programs now. Note that they recommend shutting down the browser for any website that includes adbrite ads, not just blocking the ads. http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/6...warningll8.jpg |
So whats our warning exactly?
|
1. Using adbrite is putting your surfers in danger of getting scumware.
2. As more and more Antivirus companies add adbrite to their block lists, publishers will have a harder time making money. 3. Using adbrite to make money lumps you in with the bad guys as the notice says to close the browser and never go back to your site. I guess I have to admit the title may have been a bit overzealous, but then again, maybe not :) |
i beter change sig

That blog post was made over a month ago. Is AdBrite still dangerous?
|
You guys really need to check out conteXaclick. It's like AdBright but way better.
Instead of just having different sized ad blocks, there are a variety of other ways that you can display ads, such as 'easy feeds' which you can see an example of in the top center here: http://www.pornsiteplus.com/images/s...nshots/psp.gif :2 cents: |

I have been meaning to do a server search and make sure all adbrite ads have been removed, guess I need to do that tonight
they are a pretty shady company anyway |
Yea, adware causes alot of problems.
|
Hmm, yea I have them on some of my sites. I think I am going to take them down now though... that ContexaClick program looks interesting I'm going to check it out...
|
Adbrite and AVNads is no longer an advertising option.
|
The anti-spyware companies are out of control. The more they flag, the more users feel good about their service... thus the more they sell. They started by flagging totally harmless cookies, and have evolved to this now.

Thanks for the warning

Sure, it can be tedious and hard to decipher who is good or bad, but that comes with the territory. I'm sure they make enough money to be able to screen things a lot better. This problem has been around a while, and I for one, am glad to see some action taken against these companies facilitating installs and other 'gray' activities. |
Well wgo can we use for adult ads?.
|
Oh fuck, I've been using Adbrite/AVN for so long and I didn't even know about this. Thanks for the heads up, I just pulled Adbrite off my sites. I'll take a look at some alternatives like conteXaclick (thanks Turboface).
|
Hmm, contexaclick - I had the same idea for adult adsense over a year ago, but getting the good quality sites / volume of sites to take your ads on which is the key.
There's zero information on your site about where the ads are displayed, likely impressions etc. I set up an account a few hours ago to test and there's been zero impressions in that time. Adbrite - really should sort their shit out or their name will be mud (more muddy....). |
this is bad.. thanks for the warning info
|
hmm bumparo.

Hello All,
The issues arrose from advertisers with Flash banners. We have since removed the ability for advertisers to upload Flash banners. The spyware companies identified us as spyware due to flash banners that one of our advertisers was running. We have removed the ability for advertisers to manually upload flash banners, and are working with the security company to remove the alerts. If anyone runs into similar issues or has questions about working with us I encourage you to contact me. |

I haven't seen much productivity, if any, out of Adbrite/AVN traffic anyway... Has anyone actually turned it into money?!

AVN is the ad seller for Piratebay amoungst other torrent sites. |
Turboface, can you please get ahold of me regarding contexaclick?
rob at livebucks |
i like adbrite/avnads works well for me. they've never missed a payment, have a actual office with phone lines for contacting, my account rep is pretty cool always making suggestions for better ads and placement.
|
oh my....
|
Turbo that's inclick ad server right? I was checking that a while back but their pricing was a bit whacky (not expensive just weird) decided to get a custom one.

here you have a thread about ADBRITE and someone from AVN replies with what the problem was and what they did to fix it ... so when someone from AVN says " WE " when referring to a post about ADBRITE does he realize that there is no "WE" that the two companies are not related ? :1orglaugh:warning:warning:warning |

I know google banned all sites that linked to all the system doctor etc sites, so in theory if you display adverts for adbrite/avn ads you could get removed from google.
I wonder if when Adbrite fucks up Pud will write about it on FuckedCompany.com ? |
I took all my adbrite ads down. One ad was redirecting traffic from my main pages to their site without a click or being paid for the click!
