Good luck with that. Even after deleting it the right way(through the Uninstall process) it still leaves all sorts of clutter. But at least with their uninstall it does cease to function for the most part.
When using a spyware app to delete it didn't work so well last time I tried, but it can be done, eventually.

You can 'try' these online scanners and hope for the best. Depending on the speed of your system and how much data you have it can takea few hours to a day for some of these scanners to complete a scan.

If Zango is still in your 'Add or Remove Programs' area, you might try to uninstall it that way.

It might just be quicker to install Zango again if you can, and then use the 'Add or Remove Programs' area to uninstall, and then run a couple scans to clear the junk they leave behind.

Yes. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs.

you could try "spybot search & destroy", but the only way to be sure is a format+reinstall.

that doesn't completely remove zango. (tried it myself on 3 test computers about a month and a half ago)

Thanks guys!

almost every program you uninstall from control panel leaves behind crap. I haven't had a problem removing Zango when I have tried it so far. I've used some spyware programs on peoples machines that pick up the extra crap and gets rid of it. Using Adaware, Spybot, AVG Antispyware etc.

thought I'd bump this one

what is the quickest way to tell a surfer that might have a very short attention span and very limited technical savvy what they should do to get rid of Zango from their computers?

links to software companies that ask for purchase won't work I'm sure

does zango work on mac too?

cheapgallerydesign 09-03-2007 04:02 PM

Step #1: Start>Run regedit

Step #2: Edit>Find zango

If not found, close Registry window.
If found? Goto step #3

Step #3: Tap F3 (will search for the next ZANGO entry). If found, delete again.

Step #4: repeat step #3 until done.

Use caution when using this approach. Make sure you know what I am talking about for the most part before you attempt this.

I got a trojan wimad that I can't get off, anyone?

d-null 09-03-2007 04:07 PM

I was thinking more along the lines of an easy link to somewhere free and simple, somone should have a page set up that is competely uncluttered and simple, that says "remove zango and other spyware for free" with a one click method....

the people we need to help are not going to handle anything command line based I don't think

What is it exactly doing to your machine? Any strange behavior (popups, strange icons, etc)?
