Changes at Google

Anyone here dig the new layout of Google's main page? I kinda like the old 'tab' version. I guess they put the items on top and to the left to get you to click the "MORE" drop down menu.

OzMan 05-16-2007 11:49 PM

it looks stupid..they should swap the top left with the bottom and list everything like yahoo does instead of hiding it in a drop down

budz 05-16-2007 11:49 PM

Fap 05-16-2007 11:53 PM

There's also some changes on the way.... impacts SERPs and Search Engine marketing. Check here for more details: http://blogs.zdnet.com/micro-markets/?p=1362 and here: http://blogs.zdnet.com/micro-markets/?p=1363

1) Google top ten organic SERP result set is gone,

2) Google pits Web pages against other content in a perpetual SERP smackdown.

Hopefully, their still testing. I like the old version better because it's easier to switch from mode to mode just using the tabs. Maybe they can incorporate their MORE FEATURES version into the old one. I guess they are trying to avoid Amazon's "page of tabs" design back in 1999/2000.

It will be very interesting how this turns out... My company's getting deeper and deeper into SEM and we've been racking our brains re the new algo change.
