googlegalleries.com, will i get sued ??

I picked up googlegalleries.com earlier and remembered someone getting sued for domains like this.

heres the story:

so if i made a site out of this would i get sued by google? anyone got any ideas of what to do with it and was it worth the domain reg fee ?:upsidedow

They will send you some lovely emails and letters, but tell them 'google' is a verb and put on your site that you're nothing to do with 'google inc' and you should be ok

I had GoogleNews.com and dropped it after a C&D - its just not worth it.

just make sure to seperate the word google..

Google got the money, so if Google thinks you shouldn't have this domain and sends a C&D, I wouldn't argue...it's not about right, wrong, legal, illegal.

As I said in another thread: It's a bare fists fight with a 600 pound gorilla. It doesn't care if you are right, it's there to show you who's the boss.

Microsoft has been bypassing the C&D's lately and going straight to lawsuits. I heard some squatters were settling with them for $2K per domain in the UK. Not sure what will happen to the ones that decide to go all the way to court, they could see some major penalties.

Google probably won't do that unless you ignore their C&D.
