The Simpsons

i put on the season two dvd and pulled the tv up to the monitor. this kicks ass, moreso because the new episodes are shit.

one of my oldest bookmarks...
http://www.snpp.com/episodes.html

ahhh. memorable moments.

homer falling down the cliff, using burns' head as a bongo, trying to buy illegal fireworks, taking the fbi lie detector test, the oliver stone version of itchy and scratchy...

Here are some good quotes from Homer:

"It's not easy to juggle a pregnant wife and a troubled child, but somehow I managed to fit in eight hours of TV a day."

"If you really want something in this life, you have to work for it - Now quiet, they're about to announce the lottery numbers!"

"Ah, beer, my one weakness. My achilles heel, if you will."

"They have the Internet on computers, now?"

"Getting out of jury duty is easy. The trick is to say you're prejudiced against all races."

"No matter how good you are at something, there's always about a million people better than you."

"Now, son, you don't want to drink beer. That's for daddies and kids with fake IDs."

Not liking the Simpson's is like not liking Pizza, beer, pussy, and so on...

It's life blood.

WayPay-Kenny 08-23-2002 12:21 PM

I would agree, Simpsons rule... If it were the only show on TV, I would be okay. And some of the new episodes still surprise me from time to time, Matt hasn't lost his touch.

"Exxxxxxcellent!"

Juge 08-23-2002 12:24 PM

I think my all time favourite quote:

Mr. Burns: Well, if it's a crime to love one's country, then I'm guilty. And if it's a crime to steal a trillion dollars from our government and hand it over to communist Cuba, then I'm guilty of that too. And if it's a crime to bribe a jury, then so help me, I'll soon be guilty of that!"

Prayer has no place in the public schools, just like facts have no place in organized religion. - Superintendent Chalmers

Bart: Wow! God is so in your face.
Homer: Yea, he's my favorite fictional character.

Homer: "Marge, it takes two to lie. One to lie and one to listen."

hahmike 08-23-2002 12:44 PM

"Bart, with $10,000, we'd be millionaires! We could buy all kinds of useful things like... uh... love!"

"Oh, everything's too damned expensive these days. This Bible cost 15 bucks! And talk about a preachy book! Everybody's a sinner! Except this guy."

"And how is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive?"

Simpsons rule. It's like a way of life. Wonder if they'll still be playing it when the next generation rolls around.

If not, we'll be watching the DVD's and our kids will be like what's so good about that stupid Simpsons show.

It amazes me how the same episode in different places are cut slightly differently.

Here in the UK that line would just be:

"Bart, with $10,000, we'd be millionaires!"

Don't ask me why??

And Sky (satellite channel owned by Murdoch) tend to cut more. I'm not sure if it's to fit in more ads, or for more politically correct reasons.

Strangely enough, the BBC shows the Simpsons earlier than Sky, and never cuts it.

How strange...

Chris R 08-24-2002 03:21 AM

Mr. Burns: Well Smithers, another Friday night is upon us, What will you be doing? Something GAAAY no doubt?
Smithers: Wha...? I...
Mr. Burns: You know... lighthearted, fancy-free... mothers lock up your daughters, Smithers is on the town!
Smithers: Heh, heh, heh, EXACTLY sir.

I think Simpsons has been going a bit downhill the last few years, although it is one of the very few shows I make sure never to miss...

other people have said that, but I can't see it myself

I still love it ... and always make sure to see new episodes

and even if an episode's been repeated 10 times already -- I'll still watch it!
