Love it. then you watch Fox News and they talk about this argument and said that Rosie was fighting dirty. Then you watch the video and she mostly answered questions and it was elizabeth ranting.

The Democrats that voted for that war didnt want to get screwed over by Rove's PR machine that paints anyone who doesnt support the Administration as anti-American. Yes, they had no backbone.

But lets see, other things wrong at the moment include record gas prices, lower consumer spending, a shrinking middle class, lack of confidence in our current president - yea things are peachy!

Troops arent getting taken care of (Soldiers families buying heir own armor? are you fucking kidding me?).
Troops treated like garbage (Walter reed).

1- if the democrats were against the war, it's morally irresponsible for them to have voted otherwise. They apparently fell victim to the politics of wanting to keep their jobs. I don't feel bad for them. In retrospect, had things gone differently, perhaps most of them would have lost their seats in Congress rather than the Republican side.

2- Gas prices are based on so many other things that the President's power to control such things. Consumer spending as well.

The middle class has been shrinking since well before this debate started... We could say the same thing for the Clinton Era.

There is a lack of confidence because things aren't going well... that happens in WAR and Conflict.

I will say it again as I said the other day... I am very curious that if a Democrat gets elected... has that first NSA meeting.... gets to see all the intel that only the president gets... and goes.... a) oh shit Bush was telling the truth or b) na na na.... we were right!!!! Bush was full of shit!!!

Which will it be???

Yet the Dems all said Saddam needed stopped before Bush was even in office. IIRC Gore had it as part of his platform in 2000.

We were talking about what is bad in the country today. The main job of the president in this country, as dependent as we are on our economy, is to generate confidence in consumers and businesses. He is not doing that - never has.

His father had the same problem and didnt get re-elected because of it.

No he didnt get re-elected cause he raised taxes, and didnt finish in Iraq.

The thread was about Elizabeth and Rosie.. So I commented on Elizabeth.. but yeah half of what Joy said was crap as well. But.. IMO Joy wasn't trying to come off as "smart" given the couple humorous things mixed into her list.. Elizabeth on the other hand was attempting to appear intelligent and only showed herself to be no better then the rest of the talking parrots.

"It's the economy stupid"... how could anyone forget that... well.. that and the read my lips statement.

Randyyy 05-24-2007 01:33 PM

I'm sorry but I'm pro rosie!

candyflip 05-24-2007 01:53 PM

After that segment, Alicia Silverstone came out and pretty much ignored Elizabeth. Shook the hands and hugged the others while walking right by and not even acknowledging Elizabeth.

Funny shit.

Brad Mitchell 05-24-2007 02:05 PM

political arguments aside -rosie's a whiney bitch and elizabeth was right on in that discussion. Rosie said something that was twisted in the press? It's her job to fix it.

sweetcuties 05-24-2007 02:18 PM

Elizabeth is really sheltered... amazing how some people can be so blind when 70% of the country think we're in the wrong direction :2 cents:

Should revist the gas out of control thing. Factor in inflation, and prices are NOWHERE near as high as they were during the gas crisis in the 70's with Carter. NOWHERE near. Go buy gas in Japan and then get back to me with your whining lmao.
