try to not shoot in hotels if at all possible unless you are going for a street feel, in that case keep it real and get a cheap hotel.

The hotels with nothing in it whatsoever can easily be turned into a set.

Just make sure the hotel you pick does not have where the curtains and bedsheets are the same pattern.

Back in 2000-2001 when I lived in Washington D.C., I would pay $14.00 for a few hours in different pay by the hour hotels sprinkled along Rhode Island Avenue.

I like la quinta,free wifi, alot of room in their suites, moderate pricing and a great points program. I prefer shooting before 3pm, always try to get early checkin.
The only people around at that time during the week are cleaning people and they dont give shit. Someone makes a bunch of noise you have no one bitching about it .

40/night hotels don't seem like that bad of a place to shoot content

Smaller hotel rooms with white walls and ceiling are great for shoots with minimal lighting :-) two small flashes or lights are all you need.
