I have heard this theory before too. Gotta remember it's been 16 years this summer since he announced he was HIV +. That's a long time. His wife and child never got it. The occasional misdiagnosis can and does happen in the medical community.

Then again . . . drugs are improving, though we don't have enough precedent to determine exactly *how much* they have improved and whether that can prevent HIV from becoming AIDS.

I am not pretending to be a doctor here. I just don't think there's been time passed yet to determine anything conclusively about the drugs except to say they are much better than not taking them.

Of course he doesn't have AIDS...he has HIV

If you got the money HIV is not big deal... They can supress it to the point that it will have limited or no effect on your life...

I guess at this point no one would come out and say "Ooops...we were wrong you don't have HIV. Sorry about that."

There has been research done on high-incidence countries on AIDS, and they have actually found that some women (they were testing prostitutes in Sudan I think it was) were exposed to the virus again and again and never developed the disease... they had natural immunity. There is some hope there, however, it doesn't mean people should get stupid.

Well you obviously have no facts about the disease. As to if he does or does not have the disease, why would he lie? Not to mention the fact that when the disease first surfaced, those infected could still live 10+ years before it turned AIDS. The treatments that are around today have made it possible extend that time even further. So yes it is possible that he has HIV.

Why do you think they call him "Magic"?

Or he has been dead for ten years and they are using old footage that he pre-shot.

He was one of the 1st, if not THE 1st, public figures to announce he had it LONG before it was as huge of a thing as it is today. He took a lot of heat at the time for it also since little was known about it at the time.. I do not think he would put himself or his family thru any of that if it was not true that he had HIV. As stated above HIV is not AS BAD if its well handled, which Magic as the money to do. I am sure he is one of the 1st for any new top of the line treatment options out there. He also at the time (and still is from my understanding) in top physical shape which has also been known to help limit and slow down any effects of HIV.

as previously stated, he is HIV postive but does not have AIDS.

A) He ahs HIV not AIDS a bit of a difference.

B) he's had the money to make sure he has always gotten the best medical care.

C) Jim J Bullock has had HIV sicne 1985 and he's not sick. And he's never has sought treatment. There are in fact people that are immune to the HIV virus.

I can tell you are under 30. Rock Hudson was the first big name celeb to come out that he had AIDS in 1985.

He does analyst work for TNT and looks great. I'm sure he works out every day and keeps an eye on his diet, not to mention listens to everything the top doctors recommend.

I recently heard that if you get HIV today and treat it probably your life expectancy will not change much at all. I don't know how true this is, but the last 16 years there has been a lot of medical advances.

I have a friend that has been hiv positive for 20 years but she doesnt have aids

HIV wont kill you or even make you sick. its when it becomes aids is when your in trouble

To add to that, I have a friend who's been hiv+ for about 15 years and he's the picture of health. His viral load is almost undetectable.
