windows xp is telling me i have a new mail message when i don't
 

Any way to resolve this? I tried searching for info on google and came up with nothing. Basically when i go to log on to the computer it says i have one new mail message when i don't. Restarting doesn't help.

mine does the same thing, it goes away after awhile...

it happens when my friends login to msn messenger and it shows how many emails they have...

i know its them since i dont have my hotmail inbox activated

May be you guys need to check your system for some adware? where does the link leads you when u click on that mail alert?

mine says ive got messages when i never told it to ever look for that shit. Just pay no attention to it.

I've had that happen also and I have all "notices" turned off.
It's rare but it happened more than once.

I fixed it by sending myself a message, it went away after viewing it.
