America West / US Airways fucking SUCKS
Fuck them
I have an unused ticket I bought for a friend... total was like $170 bucks or something. I called asking if I could apply that money to a different ticket for a different person #1. No I can't #2. I have to pay $100 to change the date & time for the next ticket #3. He is the only person that the ticket can be issued for #4. It has to be from the same departing airport to the same destination airport That is some straight B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T Worst fucking ripoff policy ever, fuck those assholes... wonder what will happen if I charge the purchase back Anyone ever done this? That is just crazy... I already knew about getting raped for the $100 change fee... but I can't even use the balance for a different person. Just trying to save $70 on the next ticket fucking dicks |
I used to like AmericaWest ... the US Airways merger has fucked them all totally.

didnt you agree to the terms before buying?
chargebacks will land you in trouble because airline tickets are seen as physical goods in the eyes of the law. just suck it up and move on bro... all the airlines do it |
I'm under the impression they all have similar policies. Other airlines have told me the same. It may be a FAA or TSA thing.

$150 first class upgrades are nice.

Read the fine print. Better yet always get travel insurance and think of a good excuse why your friend couldn't travel so you get a full refund (flat tire on the way to the airport still works good I believe) :winkwink:
Changing the name of the passenger has always been the biggest no can do, even well before 9/11. If you are pissed, spare a thought for the thousands of people that get refused on flights daily at the airport because of reservation agent or passenger middle initial typo fuckups, where their ticket says FREDA SMITH instead of FRED A SMITH or worse FRED M SMITH instead of FRED N SMITH. Not to mention newly weds with maiden name still on license, license expired last week etc etc :error |

It really depends on the fareclass you purchased them in i think :2 cents:
|
all airlines have that same policy shit...sorry
|
pretty standard for discount tickets. No, not discount as in discount airline - discount as in fare code.
The fee varies, but the terms are more or less identical across ALL US airlines for these tickets. Full fare tickets of course are entirely different, but I really don't know anyone that buys these unless forced to these days. Sucks, but what can you do. shrug. -Phil |
That sounds pretty standard - thats what "non-transferrable" and "non-refundable" mean.
Speaking of airline suckage: Delta once wouldn't let me board a plane even though I showed up 105 minutes before it took off, and was at the counter 40 mintues before the departure time.... I took it in stride, even though the published cut-off was 30 minutes. Waited out 3 later flights as stand-by with no luck. Was a more meager holiday season, so I ended up pitching a tent in the terminal, and the next day, they told me the same thing. I had to pull a 70 decible "Look, I just want to get home for Christmas... what do I need to do to make this happen?" before they stopped giving me the run-around, and actually worked to solve the problem. I'll never fly Delta again. |
Don't even get me started on those vaginal-blood-fart motherfuckers, they have fucked me over one time too many...I hate them!!!
All that aside, that is pretty standard for most airlines though... |
That really doesn't sound like something limited to them.
