Paysite designers using AJAX.. Please use your brains...

Surfers expect to be able to use the fucking BACK BUTTON! I can't believe the number of sites I've been seeing lately that use AJAX cause it's the new cool thing to do and they don't give a second thought to the actual useablilty of the site. The reality is that AJAX is rarely required on a site. And don't give me any bogus excuse like "but the surfer doesn't have to reload the entire page"... uh huh.. except all those graphics are already cached so it's not that big a deal.. PLUS.. and here's the kicker.. By the surfer NOT being able to use the back button and thus their cache, they have to RELOAD the previous page which slows them down and increases the site's BW usage..

eg: ImLive, SexProAdventures+, membership area of pimproll and more....

Morons.

Got an example? I haven't seen a paysite using AJAX yet.

It all depends. Tempest has a point there. However, tomorrow I'm launching my AJAX driven portfolio and there you'll see some nifty and proper use of AJAX as an useful tool. Less than 24 hours :winkwink:

We use AJAX in our member areas, not in our tours.

I agree with the back button issue and we have dealt with it in our next update.

Overall all our new member areas retain MUCH MUCH better then our previous.

I suspect since they revamped Downloadpass which would have been Feb??? Not all sites have the new members areas yet though.
