Harolds fucking rules. When I worked in the Loop, I'd eat that shit every other day. It's the most unhealthy stuff in the world, and you see some savory characters in there, but it's damn good chicken. You also have to go to Lou Malnatis in Chicago.

I'd recommend NYC, Vegas, and Chicago.

How long will your visit be, cause I would keep in mind this is a huge country and almost every state has some "must visit" locations.

I myself am personally fond of places like the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National park, and certain parts of the Pacific ocean.

Yosemite National Park - I'd tell anyone to go there.
If stunning nature isn't really a draw for you, then Las Vegas has fake versions of almost everything you'd want to see all in one conveniently located city. Mostly on one street, even.

Whatever you do, don't miss NYC. Vegas and Miami are fun places too. Haven't been to New Orleans after Katrina, but that place rocked when we were there.

Chicago is nothing special imho. And it's hot as hell in the summer. So is NYC, but you have way more fun things to do there.
