Why is AWE so damn popular?
Hey everyone!
As I just did a reply on another thread because of livejasmin.com I felt the urge to ask this question in public again! Why is AWE so popular? I don't get it. OK, I admit that they have very good promo tools and that they are the only cam sponsor I know who lets you link directly to a certain model's profile is awesome - and yeah, I have one small ad for them on one of my blogs aswell. But, what really pisses me off is that they don't offer lifetime recurring! I mean WTF? I have never seen any other revshare program that doesn't offer lifetime revenue but only a damn 14 day cookie. So, if a member that YOU referred buys credits after 14 days (or after he deleted that cookie) you get absolutely NOTHING, not one single $ for that sale. Only, if he entered through your site again - and why should he do that when he's once signed up with livejasmin or mycams directly??? So people, tell me - why do you push AWE that hard anywayz while other cam sponsors pay you a cut for the whole lifetime of a customer? I don't get it, and if another big cam sponsor offers the specific tools I need I'll dump AWE instantly, without a doubt. |
Probably because of Adam..
:question But what exactly is AWE??
Mickey's a standup guy...
I don't know why :)
The 14 day thing is fucked up..

AWE is popular becouse they convert better than most camsites, even with a 2 weeks cookie sistem people are making a lot of money .
After 2 weeks the member is back in the members pool and he could visit LJ , MyCams etc from another webmaster site , this way many webmaster could make money out of the same member . It's very hard to make members return to your site every 2 weeks , in most cases after 2 weeks the member is "lost" and many will dump awe and go to a lifetime revshare site and hope for the same conversion rate as they had before . Webmasters can choose if they want to make 2K per period with awe and then no more income from the previous members or make $200 every period for life ( life means 1 to 3 years in most cases in camsites term ). I dont like awe have cookie set to expire after 2 weeks but what can i say ? awe converts great so i promote them :) |
i love them because they are paying me all my bills, after half year! yeah! :winkwink: :thumbsup

14 day cookie thing blows. Should be extended a little longer at least. But the funny thing is I still make more with them then any other cam company.

I was trying to use various cam providers in my paysites' member areas. AWE works better than others to me.
P.S. I'm on revshare. |
They are good people with mad skillz
i know and my sig know......
Mickey is a great guy :)
i'll promote them if they make the cookie last much longer... :)

1. Many of the top webcam programs now let you link directly to a model's chat or bio. If it's not in their promo tools section, ask for it. :)
2. I've said here many times already re: 14-day cookie. It works both ways. 95% of the webmasters that mention it whine and groan about it ... and almost all have never tried it. Instead of thinking glass half-full ... think! If you sign up a customer under your cookie, then after 14 days he's free for anyone - including you - to cookie him again. So that means, overall, it works out for everyone: For every customer you lose to AWE (they don't get re-cookied from an affiliate) or a webmaster, chances are you'll get one back the same way. 3. The short-term cookie helps prevent the program from getting saturated. New webmasters sign up all the time without the worry that everyone and their sister is already promoting them - it doesn't matter. Everyone has a fair shot at every customer. Now, please, someone pin or bookmark this reply so this never-ending debate about the AWE cookie business can be put to rest? :thumbsup |
Maybe Because They Always Pay In Time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't get a PPS out of them. The cam system I had before them made me a lot of money but I dropped them due to horrible support. Bad move. I'm going to try them revshare and see if that helps, if not... bye bye.
Works out fine for me.
I have many users that return through my url :) I just figured that it was lifetime recurring,.. lol |

the new webmaster thing and cookie thing is interesting hmm
Its a combination of things. Just look at the BIG PICTURE, and you will figure it out for yourself.
So just to clarify,
you guys are saying regardless if you actually get a "new" customer to sign up, if they click your link with your cookie "after the 14 days", whatever credits they spend on their existing account goes to you? Please clarify. Thx. |

because in that 14 days you can make mad monies
my ratios with them are kind of sad, but i like their promo tools for sure.
because people follow like sheep thats why buddy :) no other reason atall
show me someone making mad money there and i shall show you a suprise :) |
They used to convert well.
They have a good product though.
I never had any luck with cams, probably i do not have the right traffic for it
AWE is popular bc its Dutch owners are smart. :)
LiveJasmin.com is a great site to promote, but unfortunately they do not give lifetime rev share so basically they are a rip-off. You are getting credit for 30 or 90 days (not 100% sure) after a new user signs up and after time you get nothing...

very easy answer. Look at the amount of models online.
