For the fisherman on the board(pics)
For the fisherman on the board!!!
I spent the last week at the beach, fishing was slow on the pier one day so I decided to take a ride to Moorehead City and watch the weigh at the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament! Talk about big fish! The winning fish weighed in at 613 lbs!!! The winning fish had a length of 117 inches and had a girth of 66 inches!!! Unfortunately I could not be there for it's weigh in, however, these photos were taken the same day! http://luvloot.com/misc/Big-Rock-Marlin-001.jpg This one didn't win anything but did get a ticket and a thousand dollar fine when they it the dock, the fish was of legal weight for the tournament but was undersize for the states length limit!! http://luvloot.com/misc/Big-Rock-Marlin-006.jpg A 567 pound fish!!! http://luvloot.com/misc/Big-Rock-Marlin-009.jpg And the winning Dolphin(Mahi) http://luvloot.com/misc/Big-Rock-Marlin-002.jpg The really neat thing is all the fish are donated to research upon the tournaments completion so nothing goes to waste! |
OOOOH I ABSOLUTELY Love Mahi...so yummy!

I have not seen or fished a bill fish tournement since the early 90's where they did not tag and release the marlin. What's the deal with the marlin on the dock?

The sailfish division is release only as they are pretty rare, dolphin there is a minimum as well as tuna too, not sure what those minimums are though. |
