Any Sports Memorabilia Collectors? Name your prized possessions

Here are mine..

Bjorn Borg autographed tennis racket (one he actually played with at Monte Carlo)
Evander Holyfield and Larry Holmes autographed boxing gloves
Barry Bonds Rookie baseball card (not the best one)
Roger Clemens Rookie baseball card (one of the best ones last time I checked)
Tommy Lasorda autographed Baseball Bat
Alain Prost autographed F1 Helmet (gave it to my bro on his wedding day he's a F1 freak)

My friend got me into baseball cards back in the 80's when the Dodgers won the world series so he recommended some for me to get. I got the the tennis racket from Bjorn himself when he was walking off the court. The boxing gloves were VIP gifts from Ceasar's Palace and I baught the helmet when I lived in France in the 80's. The baseball bat was a gift from someone who works for the Dodgers here in LA.

Thanks! Dunno what they are worth and really happened to be at the right place at the right time for most of them. Gonna hang on to them and put them in the 'boy's room', arcade, pool table, poker table, etc when we get our house :thumbsup

I have tons of stuff. Mostly Nebraska Cornhusker signed helmets, jerseys etc. Four or five cubs authentic jerseys signed, something like 20-30 balls sign by various Cubs players. 1969 16x20 Cubs Team picture all signed (Billy Williams, Ernie Banks, Ron Santo, Ferguson Jenkins etc) , multiple 8x10's signed. A few team bats etc.

Boneprone has some really nice stuff as well. Maybe he will post his pics

ADL Colin 06-19-2007 01:31 PM

Signed Bob Feller picture. Cool cuz I met him.

Rookie Earl Campbell because he was my favorite player as a kid

Scott McD 06-19-2007 01:32 PM

I've been collecting autographs for awhile. I don't buy them I get the autographs myself and that's the fun of it. I'll buy something and hold on to it until I find that person to sign it. I also make prints of pictures I've taken and get them signed.

Probably my favorite right now is a commemorative poster for NASCAR's Inaugural Brickyard 400 at Indy in 1994. I bought the poster in 1996 and have been hunting all the drivers down to sign it ever since. It was a pretty diverse group with drivers like A.J. Foyt and Jeoff Brabham along with the regular drivers which some still drive and some have retired making them harder to find. Out of 43 drivers I have three left to sign it and then I can get it framed.

I also have signed:

Tracey McGrady Orland Magic jersey
16x20 pic Joe Montanna
16x20 pic Pete Rose
Football signed by many of the Dolphins from
the perfect season

bunch of auto racers with my favs being

Richard petty
John Force

Like everyone else I dream of a killer game room and I had been collecting all that to hang the best on the walls

I enjoy getting my autographs in person as well for the most part. I'm working on my gameroom right now. Have alot of things hung up but still need the bar and pooltable to finish the room off. Framing all these jerseys and pictures etc gets expensive!

RP Fade 06-19-2007 04:11 PM

Some good shit guys :thumbsup

Brooklywood 06-19-2007 04:41 PM

I have a ton of rookie cards, but as far as memorabilia goes...

signed basketball from 2000 Big East Champion St. John's Red Storm
autographed UCLA ticket stub by John Wooden
Sports Illustrated 1st issue (with the Jackie Robinson card intact)
retro SJU jersey signed by Chris Mullin and Mark Jackson

When I think of all the sports stars I've met, I could have a ton more, but

After Shock Media 06-19-2007 05:18 PM

Crap load of cards due to having a card shop at one time.
Umm off the top of my head.

Signed jordan rookie card
Bat signed by Mcguire and Canseco.
Plus some other stuff up in oregon with my parents in storage.

JDog 06-19-2007 05:55 PM

Well pretty soon I'm gonna have lots of baseball stuff. Once my ex gets out of this house. One of my prized things will be a picture of Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams & Joe DiMaggio. Picture from around 1951 and it's signed by all three of them.

It's really nice. I'm buying it off my uncle because he is selling ALL his baseball stuff on eBay. I'm like, I'll give you WHATEVER you want for that, but your ass isn't selling to some stranger on eBay. :1orglaugh

And then there's countless baseballs signed by countless people. I should have bought a lot of his bats he sold. At one point he had EVERY 500 home run hitter signed on a bat, minus of course Babe Ruth.

I have lots of Elvis stuff and getting a German 1940 K98 from my cousin. Gotta send him the money for that. But adding nice stuff to my collectible collection! :)

spunky99 06-19-2007 08:51 PM

I've got a lot of BB cards. Good stuff in there like Clemente rookie + his first few years, Nolan Ryan rookie, well, lots of late 50's - 60's stuff. A few sealed cases of early 80's cards from Topps.

Nismo 06-19-2007 09:00 PM

I used to be big into baseball cards when I was younger, but I havent looked at my stash of over 20k cards in probably 10 years.

I know I have the following(and im sure im forgetting alot):
-Chipper Jones signed rookie card, signed minor league card and high school cards
-Micheal Jordan signed rookie card
-Canseco & McGuire rookies and teammates/special duo cards
-A few error cards (mis-printed names, misspelled names, wrong person w/ wrong name on card)

selena 06-19-2007 09:08 PM

2 unworn pairs of Haines Her Way panties autographed by Troy Aikman.

I'm also fond of an Al Unser Jr tshirt that he signed while I was wearing it.

Mario is a unique case and no one is sure why, after he retired his stuff went down in value, its very possible because he never went on topass records due to illness etc but if he played healty he would have killed a lot of records.

JakeR 06-19-2007 10:58 PM

My most prized piece: 2 boxing gloves, one autographed Cassius Clay the other autographed Muhammad Ali

Also: autographed #23 Michael Jordan home jersey, autographed #45 Jordan Bulls home jersey, autographed #45 Jordan sox jersey, autographed Jordan #23 North Carolina away jersey.
bulls team signed jersey 1998
autographed Walter Payton game worn jersey and football

and about 35 signed baseballs from various cubs players
