There's this video of a giant centipede from the wild, rather than a fish tank in captivity. It's scary how it attacks a tarantula and just annihilates it. Tarantula had no chance --> https://youtube.com/watch?v=2f5gBFMMmGc

You gain 7 points for using a book other than something for reading. Just make sure to burn the book afterwards for the bonus round. :thumbsup

That particular one isn't mine, but markings and color wise, looks identical. I have a female that was sold to me as an african giant black. Do you know of a good source with clear pictures to tell the different between various species? From the research I've done, it seems like there are a lot of species and sub-species floating around with incorrect names attached.

Bama 06-21-2007 07:46 PM

Don't care how big they are - under my size 12 boots they'd squash flat easily enough - tho the sound of the crunch could be deafening....

SeptemberLee 06-21-2007 07:57 PM

ewwwwwww

he's really nice indeed, i like the bright color, but he's also fairly pricey, and apparently not for novice keepers.

i can get the mexican redlegs for $10-15 for a young spiderling, and they aare apparently a pretty good beginner breed. i think i'm gonna get a couple of them a check it out...

http://www.swiftinverts.com/pix/Bs2.jpg

i already have 2 imperial scorpions...

http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/.../pics/emp1.jpg

invertebrates are the shiznat...

Ayla_SquareTurtle 06-21-2007 10:54 PM

I don't like dealing with the live food aspect that comes with tarantulas and scorpions usually. I have a lot of animals and it can be a hassle... I do want to pick up a few more inverts soon though, possibly some of the different colored species of millis. The reptile show where I got my milli doesn't seem to have any more show dates set yet though so I'm probably going to have to order them from somewhere.

check out the Albino Eastern Giant Millipedes they have over at http://www.swiftinverts.com they're cool lookin' millipede's. Swift has a pretty wide selection of inverts of all kinds. Millipedes, centipedes, roaches, mantids, vinegaroons, tarantulas, scorpions, and true spiders. I'm considering picking up my new tarantula from them, or possiblly http://tarantulacanada.ca/, who have a great selection of spiders/scorpions, and will also ship domestically to me...
