Chat solutions for large (200+) crowds?
I'm trying to find a solution that will hold up if you have several hundred or thousands online simultaneously.
Any sites or software that you know of? |
a crowd, say...200 times the size in this thread currently. :)

Here's the big boy of the webbased chatroom world:
http://www.webmaster.com/products/cr/professional.htm This is THE software that the huge sites use, and they have solutions that can handle up to 10,000 simultaneous connections. |
Yeah, I've been looking here and there over the past couple of years as well.
I would like something on a smaller version of Yahoo chat. :Oh crap |
I was also going to say IRC however it's not inherently 'web-based'...however there is this thing called irc::cgi that's free, but not sure if it could handle the type of load you're talking about to be honest.
