I'm not sure what your budget is and if you're going for just a nice drink after dinner or a bottle for the house, but this is by far the BEST drink I've ever had.

well then the supposed highest quality one is Louis XIII by Remy Martin

D 06-21-2007 02:24 PM

Aubade is good.

Their Exception XO is great, but is also $140-150 a bottle.

Almost as good is their Premium VSOP at $50-60

Courvoisier Napoleon also isn't too shabby, but not as good as either of the Aubades, imho.

Hope it is for someone very special as it is $1700/bottle. :winkwink:

Doctor Dre 06-21-2007 02:34 PM

Depends how much you wanna pay... if you have $200 for a good bottle get some Hennesy XO.

If you want some cheaper I like hennessy and courvoisier, remy martin etc... the popular brands pretty much.

I'm not a fan of it (I love beer), but if drink cognac, I like it to be Hennessy XO. Or Ararat 5* :)

that one is very good..

Lee 06-21-2007 02:44 PM

I bought my father a bottle of Louis x111 but he hasnt opened it yet lol. If your budget is in that range then its amazing, or maybe a bottle of Richard Hennessy which is usually a bit dearer.

just a punk 06-21-2007 02:48 PM

Actually I think you will find really good cognac only in some deep places of France or Armenia. Those drinks they sell us in supermarkets (including Hennessy XO) is just a commercial bullshit but not a real thing :2 cents:

ThumbLord 06-21-2007 02:58 PM

what cyberxxx said, the real stuff is available in the southern parts of France, no label, fucking expensive and no they do not ship they could not care less.
so check the local liquor stores since you can not get a hold on the real stuff.

Ben.Z 06-21-2007 02:58 PM

My favorite is "Kelt" :thumbsup

You can find the VSOP for roughly $60.00, and the XO for about $150.00.

nice thx evryone

depending on your budget,Remy VSOP is always a good thing, its smoother than most others mentioned in this thread. Courvoisier is also a good choice, though not as smooth as Remy. Always look for the VOSP (Very Special Old Pale) in anything you buy it wont rip your troath out:winkwink:

Stephen 06-21-2007 04:54 PM

I drink Courvoisier XO Imperial which is a mid-level (but still pretty pricey) offering and the Initiale Extra on special occassions. I haven't tried their true Napoleonic offerings as my budget doesn't allow, but at some point I'll cough up the extra pesos for the 200+ year old

Henny or nothing.
