How many of you are sitting on a swiss ball ?
fitball, exercise ball - whatever those are called:
http://www.ausphysio.com/library/ima...ll%20photo.jpg http://www.ausphysio.com/library/ima...ll%20photo.jpg I heard a lot of good things about these, been kneeling and standing on them at the gym so I bought one and have been sitting on it for 3.5 hours and can't feel the fatigue or recruiting of the core muscles as everybody is talking about. what's the hype about ? |
Ben-wah balls are infinitely more exciting.
I use one of those to do my abs in the gym....definetely feel it better than doing the old fashioned way on the floor.
man thats gayish :)
Those things are useful to exercise with, but they aren't magical and don't give you stupendous results from minimal use. These balls are mostly a popular fad by people who would rather concentrate on some bit of technology as if it was going to give them a flat tummy rather than working their abs or core hard a lot of different ways that are a lot safer than trying to stand on a giant ball!
I sat on my balls once. There was some definite fatigue in a core muscle.
I'm sure BA's sat on the balls of a Swiss once or twice in his time.
They are good to sit on, because it force you to use your muchels to sit straight. And you burn bat by using your muchels. You burn close to 25 times the fat compared to sitting on a regular chair. But its still very small amounts
better for shooting hardcore. The models like rolling around on them.
Im not Swedish... So guess American balls, or German, Scottish, Irish, Welsh balls if you prefer.

I use one at home for my desk. I had one at work, but one of the MIS guys sat on it with keys in his pocket and it exploded.
My chryopracter told my get one since I sit in a chair all day. She said it relieves back tension and help me with fatigue
I used to have sex on one of those balls, that was interesting...
that thing can't be good for your back.
i stopped sitting on it as i always rolled away..........
watch out
I have one at my second computer...I sit there some days for a change of pace. After those days my left knee was mysteriously sore. (Sometimes it gives out when walking down stairs now). I stopped sitting on it for a while and the pain went away. I thought it was maybe cause I hadn't played softball for a couple of weeks.
I started using it again, the pain cam back. I put some more air in it (was pretty cushy) and the problem has gone away. I think if the ball is low to the floor, you have to use the knees more to support yourself. Be careful. |

there is a chart. the knees should be the same height of the hips or a little higher when you sit. |
