I know I'm way behind on this, but I wanted to implement this technology on my site. I see some sites that say "Find some pussy in Palo Alto, CA". But if you were to visit that site and you're in Austin, TX - it'll say "Find some pussy in Austin, TX".

What does that technology called? Any good resources for PHP/Perl development?

For Perl, there are serveral modules on CPAN, e.g. Geo::IP2Location

You can use the one on http://www.maxmind.com it works pretty good, and is fairly easy to install.
