i hate discount retail furnature stores
so buying a bed for spare room in the office. went to a discount retail store. $500 for a queen bed - decent bed - nothing great, just decent.
they were supposed to deliver today - they call today - their truck is broken down and want to deliver next week. I tell them no problem - charge back my credit card I'll get it somewhere else. They tell me - get this - yelling - all sales are final and i have to take the bed whenever they can deliver it. I calmly say - you don't have to charge it back - visa will do that. I'm calling them now don't bother to delver the bed to the office. They say they will call me back in 10 mins. 10 mins later they call back and say the bed will be delivered in 15 mins. hummm - what happened to the broken truck? i should have spent the extra $300 and delt with one of the reputable bigger companies for no hastle. :2 cents: |
Things that make you go hmmmm.

Yup, that's the way things work. Everywhere!

What most likely happened to their truck is, the owner got a friend to help him deliver or some hahahahahaha rigged arrangement like that. You're a hypocritical asshole because you were cheapo enough to go for the 40% discount, but then act like you have no idea what that discount is for and it just so happened that you accidentally spent a day bargain hunting to save 300 bux. And of course you can hold them by the balls, being you're all small timers. That doesn't mean you have to, unless ofcourse something about your own balls really bothers you. You remind me of the stereotypical gaggle of poor women on welfare threatening each other with calling 911 every 10 minutes. |
Should have just had something custom made.

Actually what probably happened is:
- SD when to a discount store, bought discount stuff and expected some better treatment. - A few other people with SD's fantasies about expectations did the same thing in a relatively short time frame. - Said discount store couldn't handle the load, so they went down their list of people to call saying they couldn't make their delivery date. - SD pulled a, "fuck you, I want mine now and I'll fuck you over" routine, so someone else on that list got a similar SD phone call of "the truck's broken, you'll have to wait." so SD could get his stuff. ------------------- Really. It's pretty much that simple. Quote:

hehe, truck broke down, sure it can happen but I've heard that excuse one too many times already also :)
Not my fault their truck is either a piece of shit or that they don't have a backup. If i feel they really ain't gonna be able to deliver, I just say "but I took a day off at work for this" and demand a compensation for the day that I lost ... works very well :) They don't have to know I'm a webmaster who sits at home all day anyway LOL |
I've had worse happen.
I bought furniture, they claimed they would deliver the next day. A week comes by and nothing arrives. A few days later they file for bankruptcy so there is nothing I can do to get my money back since i'm just "another creditor at the back of the line". |
