Holy Shit! Look what I found in my yard.

I'm considering keeping it. Apparently they make docile pets. I have heard of them being native but never seen one until today. Well, last night. He was going after a juicy cricket when I scooped him up.

Iron Fist 07-14-2007 07:04 PM

It'll be fun in the morning when you check the ice cream pail and he's not in there! WOOHOO!

My dog eats them for breakfast!

DBS.US 07-14-2007 09:02 PM

I had one for a while. He would eat crickets, wax worms, and meal worms from the local pet shop.

Already did, fed him a cricket and turned him loose. The best part was putting him under a glass casserole on the dining room table and waiting for the missus' screams to wake me this morning.

Same. Couldn't handle it. If I woke up or something with that thing on me I'd probably kill myself. Huge pussy when it comes to spiders and bugs.

It's a play on words.

You said you "scopped" him up. Scoop - Ice Cream.

It was a pretty lame stretch but I see where he was coming from.

That spider would have been tossed in the blender and those are the pics I would have posted on GFY.

Steve Awesome 07-15-2007 08:23 AM

Spiders are good!

Elli 07-15-2007 11:29 AM

Ok, I have a tarantulas in tucson story, if you wanna hear it, Jimmy. That was in 1999, and I was told they have a big migration every 5-10 years. So I guess this is the next one? If you want to see a shitload of them, try walking up the foothills behind the resort up off Skyline. There should be a bunch of them up there, if it is another migration.

if you stay calm nothing will happen. Spiders are pretty intelligent creatures.
They know they can't eat you so when they don't feel threatened they
won't attack you at all. :2 cents:
