Do you ever go on a real vacation?

Besides business related events, when was your last holiday? I think mine was for the July 4th weekend back in '07.

Stephen 07-19-2007 11:29 AM

I'm going to Hawaii for two weeks in Sep. - no computer / no cell phone :thumbsup

sniperwolf 07-19-2007 11:33 AM

Yeah, I remember the summer of '07 like it was just yesterday. Those were some good times back then. :winkwink:

I spent pretty much all of June at the beach, but various family members were in and out during that month so it almost didn't seem like a vacation, at times ;-} I'm going back Saturday and staying for a week and this time it should just be a few of my girlfriends, so it will probably be much more enjoyable. At least we won't have to go out to eat at five fucken o'clock every day.

My mom and some other female relatives and friends want to go on a "girl's cruise" in September, but I might rather stick a steak knife in my neck. Luckily, no one's pressured me for a definite answer yet.

I havent been on a real vacation in a long time... Too busy with work, design clients, the baby... I could use a good one though... Like 2 weeks on a lake somewhere...

My Honeymoon almost 4 years ago.

pornguy 07-19-2007 12:12 PM

Last year for a week in Cuba.

Plan to go to Cancun in Feb for a week.

candyflip 07-19-2007 12:14 PM

I went to P-Town in Mass with my girl and her family a month or so ago. Went to Disney for Christmas and am going again in September for 2 weeks.

I hadn't gone on one in a few years, so I'm making up for it this year.

sue 07-19-2007 12:24 PM

vacation???? What is that? I think I have heard of it :-)

Honestly, there was this week at Mykonos, Greece 4 years back when I did not bring my laptop. I tend to travel a lot, but when I do, I donīt mind staying in a dump as long as they have got great wifi.

*hugs and kisses*

Rochard 07-19-2007 12:31 PM

My only vacation since I started in this industry has been YP Mexico....

Cassie 07-19-2007 12:35 PM

Imortyl Pussycat 07-20-2007 08:24 AM

mine was an extended stay in Cabo, during the show, with the hottest man alive. no vacation i've had will ever top that!

fuzebox 07-20-2007 08:39 AM

I go to the beach a couple times a month for 2-4 days at a time. On day 3 I'm usually itching for an internet cafe to make sure everything is running properly though.

Peaches 07-20-2007 10:16 AM

I've been doing as much traveling as possible since it's likely I'm going to be having to work in an office at least part time.

This year so far:

2 gambling trips (one good, one lost most of what I won during the first one)
San Francisco
San Diego
Mexico
Panama City FL
Destin
St. Simons
London/Ireland

Will do Vegas at least once this year, Chicago, and possibly Honolulu in the fall and Panama the country after the "rainy season".

And I'm getting a crazy feeling and considering purchasing a Class C MH

Peaches 07-20-2007 10:17 AM

Oh, and a few trips to NC but that was sorta business since I was going with a friend who was buying RE up there.

beta-tester 07-20-2007 11:24 AM

2 years ago i went to Greece, this year, hopefully LA :)

Lifer 07-20-2007 12:28 PM

the alchemist 07-20-2007 12:29 PM

I've never been on a real vacation, just been working for 10 years... :helpme

Roald 07-20-2007 02:29 PM

Didn't go on a real one for 3 years now. Going to Malaysia at the end of august for 3 weeks with my girl, travelling around the country a bit and spending the last 5 days here:

Perhentian Islands little house at the beach, if I have to believe all stories it's one of the better spots with the best beach.

Can't fucking wait!!!!!!!

Bell 07-20-2007 02:36 PM

gosh I guess I need to plan some vacation time...

I didn't realize it'd been so long till I had to stop and think...

2005 - several 3 day visits to my lake home in northern indiana
prior to that it was 2004: San Antonio for a week, Vegas for a week, Miami for a week...

Last real full vacation was Japan about 5 years ago. it was great to be in a place for 2 weeks with no cell phones, no email, no real net connection and no reason to want to.

The next one looks like China in January 2008, maybe a month there visiting with friends and seeing what was mysterious and forbidden when I was growing up.

minniesoporno 07-20-2007 04:04 PM

I have no idea what it means to go on a real vacation it's something that I always seem to be dreaming off. it's always business or visiting family across the country.

maybe one day I will get a real one.

M0nk 07-20-2007 04:41 PM

I went on a trip to bahia a couple of months ago, visited cabralia, some small fishing town , plenty of nature, beach and hot babes, I specially recomend to stop by in fazzenda mae teresa an incredible natural reserve with the most amazing food!

teg0 07-20-2007 04:44 PM

I moved to my vacation spot. Now i don't know where to go for vacation.

bausch 07-20-2007 04:46 PM

No because I don't have anyone to travel with and I don't want to travel alone. I would also feel out of place going with a group (like a tour) with a bunch of people I don't know.

GreyWolf 07-20-2007 05:21 PM

Used to stop work and go on "vacations" to other countries with a prolonged one at least once a year. But.... that all kinda changed and started living in various "vacationlands". It kinda feels like a permanent vacation, but, there is still plenty work to do.

hehe.. know the feeling. Strange eh? :winkwink:

You can always fly off to the Amazon or Peru and check out "forgotten cities" etc

That's what I did a few years ago. :)

A few months after I moved here I was riding around about 10 miles away and we saw some rental houses and I said "I should look into renting one of those - it's so pretty up here.". A blonde moment for sure. :helpme

bausch 07-20-2007 05:30 PM

What do you people do if you have money to go on vacation but no one to go with? Go by yourself?!

I would feel self-conscious going by myself and extremely uncomfortable going with people I don't know.

I have been thinking of vacations lately but I have absolutely nobody to go with. I don't foresee anyone going being able to go on a vacation with me in the future either.

Does anyone actually go on vacation by themselves? Is that considered "sad"?

I've gone a few places by myself, but I always pick a place where I know someone who lives there so I can see a "friendly face" while I'm there.

I used to NEVER EVER EVER go anywhere by myself but then I realized how much I was missing out on waiting for others to be ready to go. Now I just head out on my own if I can't find someone to go with and actually it's nice not always having to time things with someone else - others might be "sad" but I'm having a ball :)

I've also been a 3rd wheel with several married couples on trips. Something I thought was just crazy until I was made an offer I couldn't refuse on a trip to Maui last year. Went to Europe with a couple also (and met up with someone we knew who lived there too).

I took my first road trip alone in almost 3 year a few weeks ago and forgot how much I really enjoy doing that. That's what got me in the mood to start looking at RVs.

My parents travel CONSTANTLY. Literally probably 40 times a year at least. I was just on the phone with my Dad and in the next week they will be in Alabama, Michigan and Indiana. Actually everyone in my family travels a lot. We have the wanderlust :thumbsup
