Snatched up a pornstar domain name...what would you do now?
So I'm just looking for some input of a situation I am dealing with right now.
I few months back, I saw that a girl I knew from my past had now taken the leap into Adult, by doing some scenes for BangBros and such. I saw her "stage" name .com and .net weren't taken so I snagged them up before someone else did. Since I knew this girl, I had the intentions of talking with her about doing her site together. Long story short, she goes "Pornstar Ape-Shit" (something which I'm sure some of you producers have seen many times) and tells me she thinks I'm a piece of shit, and that she's telling people not to work with my company, blah blah blah... But she also says she still wants to work with me on the website. Now I have no desire to work with her (now that I know she's crazy), so what should I do with the domains now? They're currently hosting a few sample pics and videos with my ref code of her for various programs that she's shot with. It's not bringing in a lot of traffic, but I know they're worth something. I kinda just want to sell them to her and cut all ties, but I don't know if I should just be a dick about it since thats the way she's seems to want to play it. So what would you do? :upsidedow * And No...I won't post her name here. |
hold em, and do like you are doing linking to other sites that she has performed for

Maybe tell her on the promotion side of this business drama actually COSTS money and therefore you just want to get yours right now and do away with the whole situation.
Seems like a reasonable argument. |
I used to collect pornstar domain names and resell them to programs and the girls
I would scan lukeford.com, avn fresh off the bus and the agency websites and see what girls didn't register their .com's and snag them up when they came to me if they were nice I would give it to them, if they were bitches I would sell it to them for $500 haha, haven't done that in ages, still have a TON of pornstar names though |

you could go the spiteful route and keep the domains for about 10 years, it's well passed the window for her to apologize and rebuild anything with you.
as much as sometimes I might get mad at someone in the industry I never call them a piece of anything . because you never know when your going to need them for anything little or big. and if she wants to have her own website the whole name branding thing comes into play. and with domanis going sold out like hot cakes you need to be careful on the stage name you pick making sure the domain name is avaialble at the same time you pick the name. and if you are going to sell her the domain i say make it a bit out of her price range. |
Keep it just like you're doing...

I'd keep it for now, specially the way she is acting. If it comes down to it, sell it off to her for a nice chunk of change. :thumbsup |

funny though, the ones that were nice and went about it in a proper way are still around, but the total bitches and ready for a fight all have domains that go to search landing pages now go figure |
