advice for a complete beginner.
 

Pretty much as the titles says!
I am new to the adult website related industry, i know nothing at all.
If any one here could offer me any advice i would greatlly appreciate it.

Whats the best way to start?
Should i be looking to purchase some domains?
Are there any affiliate type programs i should be signing up for?


When and how did you all go about starting?

I'm a student, currently out of work and college i have plenty of time to get things moving!

The best thing for you to do is some reading... Go down to a book store and pick up some books on HTML, PHP, Javascript, CSS and Search Engine Optimization...

After all of that then look at actually writing basic webpages and having them indexed by the different search engines... after you know that you can have your website(s) picked up and found on the search engines then pick a associate program and try to promote such with you website(s)

If you have no interest in doing the above then hire someone, however It's going to be very very costly! and for any updates you will need keep spending big $$$. So educate yourself first.

Of course there is much more regarding web design and networking, however if you are new then start with the basics... otherwise someone will "own" you... :upsidedow

I can do all the above, i've been doing website related stuff for years.
I have many many pr 3,4,5 domains i own about 25 websites (motorbike related mostly) which all have high traffic.
I can code in valid xhtml/css, skin ipb forums (4+ years experience in photoshop) Worked with php, mysql and javascript on many occasions.

The site construction its self is not the problem.
It's the content, i really would like to get in to the adult related site buisness, i make roughly 1000$ a month from adsense, this in my opinion is far from enough.

Adult site related webmasters make 5+ times more then that each month and if not more, this is what i want to be doing.

I need advice on where to start, imagine i have a site/domain already to roll.
Whats the next step? Should i be looking to run a tgp site? if so where can i find out about one?
Can you suggest anything that could help point me in the right direction.

If you're looking to buy traffic, go with trafficholder. Buying clicked traffic by niche is the way to go, and their prices are very reasonable. :thumbsup

I would decide what niche you want to work in/interested in and then decide if you want to make money as an affiliate or run your own site.

Whats involved in running my own site? Would it be worth setting up a site based arround affiliates first as im new?

Before going so far as to put a associate program together... try getting some adult traffic first... It sound very easy, however there is more to it then non adult...

You want to go from mainstream to adult? Most of us are going the other way. The days of easy money in porn are long gone. 5k/mo is a very lofty goal with no experience. Good luck though.

One more thing, if possible,could some one maybe give me a round up as to where i should start out, by this i mean the basics. A link to a site maybe? Or a link to a site i should be looking to atleast start out with.

Hi, I'm new here and I have a similar question to mrwilson.

I've been a web-developer for three years and am looking to get into the adult stuff myself as a way to bolster my monthly income.

My 9 to 5 job is as a web-designer for one of the world's more well known on-line gaming companies (I'll say no more), and I know through them that affiliate programs can actually churn out quite a lot of cash.

I have one partner in crime who's agreed to administer whatever it is I intend to do... all I really need now is an idea.

Is it true what you're all saying??... Are the days of easy adult-website money over??
