WP Pros... deleting post comments?
 

I have a mainstream blog about sleeping and I find today I have over 31k comments spammed to it (like a dumbass I left the comments option on) how can I mass delete all the comments awaiting moderation?

When I go to mass edit, you only get a page of comments and I dont want to sit there for days deleting.

What you can do on that mass edit page is use the search bar and just type in a space. Once you do the search, all the comments that apply will show up instead of just 20. Since nearly all comments will have a space, you'll get almost all of them in one shot. It just may take a while for all 31k to load up on the page for you.

mysql query for example.

I'm pretty sure you could drop all the contents of the comments table in the wordpress database. Doing that you would loose any legit comments you have as well.

for a list of comments THAT big... your only choice is to kill'em with mysql. Talk to your host if you're not familiar with that
