Anybody else experience a surge in PDF spam?
 

As most networks' spam filters begin to weed out img spam, it looks like PDF spam is on the upsurge. Anyone else feeling this?

At least with PDF spam, even if you get tricked by the Markov-derived subject line, you don't get a whiff of the spam cuz that crap is an attachment. LOL

I wonder what the open rate is for the pdfs. They have actual links in them?

Yeah, I was getting tons for a couple of days until I retrained my filter. Now they go straight to /dev/null :)

im getting a ton of it, im sure ive deleted an invoice or 2 becuase of it. if i dont know the name i delete it. sucks

They seem to be relying less on Markov random subject lines but using BUSINESS-related subject lines like "Your invoice" or "Here's the presentation" or some other bullshit.

So PDF spam is an email with an attached PDF? Haven't seen any of those yet, although I get relatively little spam... most of it arrives to an alias I used to sign up to a paysite. :mad:

been like 20 days for me they have been coming non-stop, well over 200 of them deleted today garnered from multiple domains..

Got those viagra also at least 10 a day. 9 are from my girlfriend but the one from my mother realty hurts me

i got one for MegaDik just before, apperently in a study of over 5000 males from around the world it has shown an average increase of 3.0inches, and the effects are permanent.
Also get the pdf spam, and the cheap software ones

I would bet the idea is that the pdf contains an exploit for older versions of adobe reader.... hope your adobe reader is up to date :-/
