First trip to Internext...
 

So I have been rather dormant on these boards, And hardly know anyone in the industry. I've looked at pictures from previous shows of people in groups talking business, Am I going to feel like an idiot since I don't have a "group"? lol. I am looking to have one hell of a good time, So help a gfy newbie out! I am debating on whether or not to book my flight today :P

You'll have a great time, and you may just learn something or find out ways to do more business.

And by the way - at all these events people are super freindly - everyone wants to network so its very conducive to business.

But ask around - I could be biased .....

These events are pretty big man, don't worry about not having a group. Just show up to the parties and prepare to have some fun :) Everyone is really cool at the shows, it's nothing like how they act here on gfy. :1orglaugh

Go to the pool bar, and just start saying hello. Also as far as getting Stoned.. not too hard to do there for sure.

I was SO scared before my first show..I flew out to Vegas by myself, first time ever in Vegas at all, much less to an adult industry event. But from the moment I set foot off the plane, people made me feel welcome, and even spoiled me a bit. It was truly an unforgettable experience and the people I met not only were wicked fun to be with, but it made me feel much better about approaching people about business matters once the ice was broken in a social setting.

I'm not going to this Miami show; the first I've missed since I started going to shows, I do believe. I'm back to college, and paying my own tuition, plus I have a fairly large family to take care of, so it's just not in the budget this year. But next year I'll be there, for sure.

Just relax, dress very cool because the humidity is unreal (and I LIVE in Florida, so I'm user to heat, lol), and while having an idea of the events/seminars/booths you want to hit is good, be flexible, because opportunities arise at every turn.

And like I said in your other thread, it is FAR better to stay on site. Can't stress that enough, lol, having experienced both sides of that one.

Yeah I am starting to think I may be heading to Miami solo also, As my buddy bailed on me. But it sounds like I should have a good time either way. Thanks for all of the info, You've helped me a great deal. As long as the industry consists of more people like yourselves I should be just fine :)

listen to this man - when i came to my first miami show i came alone from germany, my first time in the US ever. i went to the hotel and within 5 minutes Joe spent me my first beer at the bar. :1orglaugh
