Actually, that was around way before NATS was popular and before I drew a dime from it.
As far as being a standard. It is certainly the most widely used 3rd party stats software. There are still FAR more ccbill based programs and there are a lot (don't have any #s on them tho) of programs using custom backends.
Are there people who will only promote NATS programs. I don't know about "only" but there are certainly a lot of affiliates who look for or prefer NATS programs and as mentioned some affiliates who dislike NATS programs.
Its hard to call anything a standard and depends on what you mean by standard. Most used? By a long shot. Something to strive for? Surely. Going to get better? See me in FL :)
As far as "all that cash", myself and my partner Charlie only recently started pulling a salary from the company and still pull a very small salary compared to what the company brings in. For a while it was all reinvested into the company and the vast majority still is. We are always expanding by hiring more staff. We like to keep all of our staff in house (unlike most companies in this biz) and we treat them well. Nearly all of TMM's revenue goes back into TMM in order for it to continue to expand and for us to continue to improve upon our products and service we provide.
