im worried the porn business will disappear
Do you guys think the supreme courts in America will change the free porn laws?
Im worried about this as im becoming a sizable porn webmaster (1 million pageviews a day). Should I be worried? Look at what happened with partypoker.com, obviously different industry but does anyone know where the porn legislation is right now? Jason |
seriously i want discussion
|
move to canada
:banana |
Gambling is an illegal activity in most states. Porn is not illegal. There is a big difference. But, we have a new program that will hard launch real soon that will always have artistic merit, and therefore never be considered obscene.
|
im in canada but im worried they will block the traffic from the US.
|
think it can happen?

anyway, if you are that worried, sell your porn site and start a mainstream business |
Im concerned they would force us to block US traffic. The US force us to block US traffic.

I doubt that will ever happen even with all the craziness you guys have there.
However if it's keeping you awake at night diversify ans start thinking about how to protect your assets (or just move to anicer place :winkwink:) |

US can't force you guys to do anything, unless they use the Military to defeat your government. ;) |
is there anyone informed about this?
We are going to have an administration change in the US next year, even if Ron Paul gets in power we are still looking at a Democratic controlled house and senate I believe |

Yeah but why would the US force Canada to block their own traffic, this really dont make sense. I could understand if Canada was blocking US Traffic, or US was blocking Canadian traffic, but not thier own
|
you dont worry that one day your going to wake up and the industry is going to be caput?
|
im worried the US is going to block all porn US traffic no one in the US will be able to look at porn or free porn websites

Free Porn Laws?
Impossible. We could only wish for such a thing. |
Jason, you've been a member for a long time but havent kept up on laws and such? Well, 2257/Adam Walsh is the topic of the day as far as US legislation. But that should not bother you much up there.
Net Neutrality could be concerning to everyone if it doesnt stay as it is now. People in congress want to change it and if thats changed, you could have local ISP's deciding not to use Google at all for example. They could strike a deal with Yahoo for example, and direct all SE typeins to their SE partner Yahoo. That'd suck for everyone obviously if the net didnt stay real as it is now, but it's more of a back-burner issue. What you should do if you're waking up wondering if your whole livelyhood in adult is still intact is branch out to mainstream affiliate programs. Take what you know and join Linkshare, Commision Junction and such, and apply it there. |
When did section 2257 come out? And what is its basis?
|
I looked at section 2257 its good the government isnt hostile to the industry.
Whoever said we will be alright I believe is fine. The way the politicians view the industry is good as they view it apart of America. It seems to me that capitalism and democracy = free porn, whereas communism and capitalism = no free porn (china) |
