Animal Molester Walks Free After Sheep Fails to Testify

A man in The Netherlands who stood accused of having sex with a sheep walked free from court because the animal was unable to testify that it hadn't given him prior consent or that it had suffered emotional stress as a result.

Without this testimony people cannot be found guilty of bestiality in Holland. Animal rights campaigner Jos van Huisen noted "Short of putting the sheep in the dock, at the moment these perverts cannot be prosecuted."

The country's Minister of Justice, Ernst Hirsch Ballin, has since stated that he will fight to change the law so that in future it will be a criminal offence to have sex with animals.

True story - when I was in my last summer in high school I was an intern at our local town newspaper. There was this guy who is a local character because he is always walking around town with a cow even though he isn't a farmer. He also thinks that aliens talk to him and stuff. Anyway, he got taken to court for something and on court day we had to go cover it. He ended up getting kicked out of court because he brought his cow into the court and tried to call her as a character witness.

The paper staff talked about that for the rest of the summer.

I just don't understand why they want to outlaw it.

I mean, hundreds of millions of animals are killed yearly in the Netherlands to be turned into food, and most people are fine with that, but when someone sucks off a dog or fucks a sheep it's suddenly cruel to the animal? :eek7

Even my dad shares that story as if he was there. Later that year, Clinton came to a nearby town and the cow guy was stopped because he was trying to use his cows to blocks the traffic around the area where Clinton was going to give an address.
