I was supposed to fly in one at an airshow about 8 years ago and the goddamn plane only ended up making the first flight because of some mechanical thing, so I got shafted.
I'd like to fly in an old B-25 too. That would be sweet. |
cool stuff :thumbsup
|
I would love to hitch a ride in a B52.
Man those things are HUGE. A C5 Galaxy would be kool as well. |

I love this kid of stuff! Recently by us the McClellan Aviation Museum just opened up and I went on the first day. What a blast.
I also went to an airshow a few months ago with a C130. Considering it's size, that fucker can take off like you wouldn't believe! |
You think those old things are cool, you should see the new shit the Air Force has like the TR-3B...
|
damn i love airplanes and fighter jets
|
damn very cool looking pictures.

Being an Airforce brat that had a father that made Brigadier and dating the daughter of a flight surgeon in Osan Air Base ROK, I was able to go up and fly in quite a few planes. I flew from Camp Zama in Tokyo to San Diego in a C5. Believe it or not, the seating area only fits about 40 or so but the cargo area is HUGE! You could play a game of football in the belly of that beast. They called it the Flying Tigers and cost $20.
I also flew in a F-16B (dual seat for training), AC-130 while it performed the pillar maneuver but never shot off a single round since it was training, and last but not least, a T-38 which is used to train jet pilots. My ultimate dream was to fly in an A-10 while it did its straffing runs but that just wasn't in my future anytime soon. All the planes I flew in were dual seat and more or less sight seeing missions. I was never in them when they went on gunning runs at Suwon AB or anywhere else. :disgust |

The stress of being responsible for something that big and expensive makes my mind swim! Hats off to the pilot :)

My grandfather flew b-17s in WWII on bombing missions throughout Germany. I was going to follow in his foot steps and become a pilot(in the airforce/navy), but Im not the type of guy who takes orders very well.
Such a beautiful piece of art work that plane is, but the b-52 s.f. is by far my favorite long range bomber, look at that pay load ^^, absolutely incredible. |
I believe that is the B-17 that belongs to the "Confederate airforce"
A group dedicated to the preservation of WW2 aircraft. If its the same one I took my sun through it (on the ground) last year in Ottawa:thumbsup |
she came back last week
|
Prop planes are insanely sexy. It's so sad so few made it back.
|
very cool pics, thanks for sharing!

That very same plane was at my local airport a few weeks ago. It was on a tour of Europe to honour the war veterans.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=LhwQQ1H126U Greg Norman's Gulfstream is currently parked up in the same spot it used :) |
There was an airshow in N/W IN last weekend, you could fly on one for $300 or so.
I was tempted to fly back out there just to do that. |

Do they put grab handles on the outside of the fuselage? How do you hold on tight enough for that long? |
