college closure: work at a big IT company OR work for my own biz
 

Last assignment at college is work external at a company for half a year. Got an appointment with an IT company the end of the week, but im in doubt.
The choice is:
- Work at some company for half a year so that my adult biz will crumble quite a bit.
- Decline the opportunity and try work something out with college to do the external assignment for my own biz (this is possible in a way, already spoke to college about this option).

pros at working at a big company: getting the experience how that goes.
pros at working for myself: getting to grow my biz more, income doesnt get worse, and after it all i can continue with it without a major dip of a half a year.

Already spoke to some people who are aware of my biz, and my fucked up schedule. They say to me they should work for the company to get out this rythm for a while and to get a taste of the corporate life, building experience, good reference for future etc. All pretty logical points.
BUT - i tend to lean more towards working for myself for the obvious reasons.
What would the oh so wise gfy community do?

ah well... my life sucks because my biz doesn't require it, but I have nothing better to do with my time than to read your thread ;-)

ok now seriously, I guess this depends on what you want to do in life

do you see yourself working in the IT biz for some company or just doing your own stuff, being your own boss and pimp through life GFY style :winkwink:

are you concerned with security? in that case, working for someone *might* be more secure than doing your own stuff, but it may not - it all depends on what you do and how succesfull you are at it

also - you're saying - the college is allowing you to work on your own biz and for your assignment.... but don't they have any problems with your job being adult? I know you're in a country where it's legal to fuck animals, but still... no sure if porn and university mix.. but I guess you got that covered already

anyway, it all depends on what you want to do with life, you can't expect us to decide for you

thanks for the input... just looking for some insights in this im not looking for people to decide for me. And the only reason i would do it is to get a more consistent rythm those 6 months, so that if i return to my adult biz i have more discipline. But I'm pretty sure i will do an assigment for myself; I feel like if i take a pause for 6 months out of this biz that it will be the worst choice i could make - just my instinct speaking

and btw the project i have in mind for myself is mainstream.

I assume your young do both put away a shit load of money.

Andre (justsexxx), myself and 1 other guy did the external on our own company. Was great and gave me a lot of insight in running your own business. Just think about what you want to do after college, run your own business or work on someone else his business (like I ended up in lol).

There is nothing wrong with working for someone else and running your own. and yes it can be done.

I'd say do both, or commit yourself to waking up, having a shower, getting dressed, and thinking about your direction before every piece of work you do. Then you can have the discipline and run your own thing.
