So yesterday the cable guy comes by telling me that the modem is running hot. Since it sets next to me I knew that to be untrue, and he states that from the office they can tell this. So I figgured what the heck, if they can better the performance, then go for it.

First off he tried to put a filter on the modem, until I questioned if it was one of the Bush spy filters:1orglaugh He takes that off, goes outside, and leaves,

Now my internet is slower then shit.

Is there a way to find out if they bugged me somehow?

Sound like you had a visitor from someone that wasn't from the cable company. More likely its a cable-signal pirate

No he had ID, etc, and Charter Called before to let me know he was coming

why not call charter back and tell them to come fix the shit.
